Renntech Exhaust...is it worth the money?

Is the sound / performance difference really worth the money as apposed to getting some stainless magnaflow mufflers at $150 a pop then just paying for installation and piping from the cats back?

I would suggest you try removing the resonator first and see what you think of the sound. Many here have done this and absolutely love it! Very cheap and simple for any muffler shop to do! You can put the money you save towards some headers that will make it sound even better and give you a HP/TQ increase.....

I think im going to do that today actually. Ill see how I like it then go from there. Is there any dynos that people have done before / after the Renntech exhaust system. I know they sound awesome but im still curious if theres a decent horsepower gain.

I haven't seen anyone show a considerable HP/TQ increase with an off the shelf
purchased exhaust system for an AMG. Some owners like hooleyboy and others have custom made exhausts and have made gains that way. Most gains will be made via better headers, removing or getting different cats (IE 200 cel) and a good ECU tune that takes into consideration the exhaust flow.

Have you had any problems passing smog? I've got the C3P pulley, new Green filters, ECU tune, and res delete. I might be interested in hearing your car w/o the secondary cats if there isn't any problem there. Might want to do it myself.

I'm in Laguna Niguel, so not too far off.

Before, I had a Code3 pulley & Intake, K&N's, LET tune and resonator delete. No problem passing smog at all. Emissions were still super clean.
