With and without tints????

Hey do any of you guys have a picture of your SILVER C55 or C32 before tints and after tints, just a side profile without the liscense plates??? I basically need it for a court case and I don't particularly care to take mine off and re-apply them. Help would be greatly appreciated!!!

If you would be willing you can send them to yzaffa1@yahoo.com.

Damn cops trying to hold me down!

They bust you with only a ticket for the tints? Or they did get you with something else and this was attached to it?

Tints

A few years ago. I had dark tints on my old C36 and was harrassed by a cop at the Pittsburgh airport one day. I had pulled up to pick up my business partner from FL and the cop strolled over to tell me that I could not sit there to wait the 30 sec to pick him up as he exited the bldg. I said that I would circle around and come back in a very polite manner. The cop then proceeded to start jumping in my $h!t about the tints and how he was gonna cut me a break and not issue a citation but that if the PA highway patrol caught me, that they would cite me for sure.

I then thanked the officer for the advice and explained that I was from out of state and the tints were not an issue in KY. That I was only visiting, seeking to bring a manufacturing project to PA, but would not return and that the Highway Patrol ford crown vics were unable to catch the AMG, unless I allowed them to do so. I then said that based on my 1st impressions, I would seek to leave Pennsylvania asap.

It's a bit late now, but you could always move to Arizona. All our cop cars have tinted windows.

haha...no I/R. Thought about driving with my NVG's on though....but seriously, it doesnt bother me really, i have really good vision, and its kind of like driving with your sunglasses on... A friend of mine who came back from iraq got his car done too..but he has a note from an eye surgeon/office that says that due to being over here his eyes were messed up from the sand and sunlight so if he gets pulled over anywhere he shows them that and they leave him alone. Me, i have never had an issue.

The picture thread, which is stickied at the top of this forum, will have more than enough photos to cover you.
Out of curiosity, how are you going to use the photos? I know you said for court, but where do the photos of someone elses car come in?

So he can show that he removed the tint, but I dont really know how a picture with and one without proves that the tint is currently off the car. Presenting fabricated evidence probably carries a much more serious penalty than the tint ticket itself anyway.

The reason cops pull over cars in dark alleys with dark tint isn't because they care about your tint. It's a reason for them to make sure that something fishy isn't going on. How else do you think they bust people with trunk loads of drugs on the highway when there's no outward indication of something illegal in the car? Blown tail light, tint, loud music, 10 mph over the limit, any minor infraction gives them a chance to check you out closer and run your lisence for warrants, your tags for stolen cars, etc.

That's exactly why I was asking what his intentions were. A photo will not suffice.

No Tints in Illinois, they are just looking for a reason to pull you over!! Elmhurst PD pretty much has a standing order to pull over cars with tints. I 'd say, depending on your area, go tint-less!!!

No, my friend just went in with a photo showing that he "took it off", and he was fine. It seems to be common practice here.

+1 i've heard the same for the MD/VA area... u just show u removed it and ur good to go

and regarding tints in FL... they barely have road laws there, they don't care about tint, exhaust, emissions, labor workers riding in open bed trucks, motorcycle helmets on the highway, inspection, etc.

Wow, lucky for you guys but they should at least require a full photo with your plate showing or front/side shot with VIN showing to verify it's your vehicle. Of course nearly any photo can be faked, but with a plate or VIN showing it at least gives it some cred.
I trust you guys aren't driving to court in your car with tints still on and someone elses photo in hand.lol

speaking of getting pulled over late at night... i was meeting my parents for dinner in alexandria back in december and parked my car on the street (which i hate doing, but i got a front spot) and i have DC plates and both DC and MD require drivers to have both front and rear plates.

i have a second plate, which resides in my trunk, because i think a front plate completely takes away from the aggressive look of the front and cops don't pull u over just for the front plate (even if u get pulled over, they dont go looking to see if u have the front plate). HOWEVER, the cops that will try to get u are parking cops. i got a ticket at 10:45 PM on a friday night for $40 for "failure to display front license plate as required by state"... but it wasn't even in DC! that was whack

getting to the point --- i didn't have to go to court, i just plead guilty, signed and sent the ticket back. the ticket said i had to provide photographic evidence that i installed the front plate, which i didn't include, i just paid it and the govt was happy they got their $40 and i never heard from them again

I DON'T COME HERE ANYMORE
What happens when you get pulled over again with the tint-doesnt the court think the last time you presented a photo to have it removed, and now its back on?
I'm all for tint-but it sounds like you'd be making more trouble then its worth-

You mean common practice to get "pulled over" for tints??? Why give them a reason, they already hate M cars and AMGs as well???

Front window isnt good enough for them The bottom gril is a possibility but would look to goofy. There is absolutely no point to the front plate. The state could stop making 2 for every car (reducing it to 1), still charge the same and make money with the drop in variable cost.

+1, I plan on buying to front tow hook mount for my license plate so I dont have to drill into my new AMG bumper on the way.
