Hi, just wondering if any of you installed any audio in your cars?
I'm being offered an audio system of my choice for free from a car audio shop and i was curious what set up works best for our cars.

Thanks!

Is there a credit limit that you may use? Does your car have Bose or Comand? Do you wish to give up the spare tire?

.

well the guy told me to just pick all the parts i want, give him the list and he'll take care of it. He didn't give me a set budget.

I prefer not to take out my spare tire, but on the other hand, i need some of the trunk space as well.

I'm thinkin bout getting these so far:

2 JL Audio W6v2 Subs
2 500/1 JL Amps
Alpine LCD Deck
Speakers,tweeters,crossovers
and a 500/5 JL Amp runnin those.

Can anyone suggest some good speakers, tweet, xovers for me please?
Do you think this is a good set up?

I dont have NAV, and i think i'm just gonna change the deck anyway.

Thanks again!

The stuff that you're getting are what majority of people will be getting when upgrading audio system. Most of the speakers like MB Quart with give you pretty good results. If you are happy with the sound quality, there's nothing wrong with this setup. However, if you have a pair of more sensitive ears, you should explore something of a higher class.

what you are gettin is pretty expansive already... and it will hit hard~ but... just something to remember. our cars are speed sensitive. and... the volume will adjust due to our speed. and sometimes... the noise that your subs makes will make the car think that it is coming from the road and it will make the sound go up n' down... you will know what im sayin once you install your system.

I think if you change your headunit into something that does not have speed sensitive function, it will not turn the volume up and down automatically according to the speed.

if you're not paying for it, you might as well go for some xtant amps. very clean power. this is the best amp i've owned.

A 2-channel 500w amp can already make your car into a "boom boom car". If thats what you want.

For speakers/tweeters, like I said before, MB Quart should do the job. Unless you really want to go to the next level.

since you are changing your head unit... the speed sensitive thing won't apply to you.
