Drag setup
I have tried researching but tire/wheel specs are like a foreign language to me. I went to the drag strip a couple weeks ago and had a dismal showing. (See "What are your best times at the drag strip" sticky.)
I really want to get a rear setup for the drag strip. Can anyone please tell me the best size tire/wheel combo to get. I can research what brand etc to buy, I just need to know what sizes to look for.
Thanks.

I have Nitto 555Rs on 17" rear tires you can tell they grip very well but to be honest my Toyo 888Rs are way stickier..in situations that causes tons of spinning well the Toyos are great..you can do a brake torque and as soon as you stop gassing it up it grips I made hard left turns from my subdivision and on my normal street tires I am spinning with ESP coming on but with these Toyos its virtually non exsistant...I am gonna try Drag racing at US41 with ESP on and off to see the difference

The MT ET's are toward the top of my list. But the 888r's sound good also.

Chazz ... your in Utah so altitude will hurt you some, but ultimately its all about your ability to maintan absolute min wheelspin and rolling into the throttle.
I has took me about 5 or so trips to the track to get the hang of this on street tires.

Using a yokohama sdrive all around, 8 in the front, 9 in the back (255s).. and pulling a 12.6 -12.7 at 110.0 Thats about it I need slicks for anything faster. I can nail the launch but like alumar said its about easying the throttle on, Mine doesn't have LSD so it jsut spins one wheel after the launch. I am at sealevel
