What the????

So I was driving in to work yesterday and was waiting at a light near my house when all of a sudden I see myself making a right hand turn, about 20 car lenghts away, on to the road I was waiting on. The first thing I did was look at the dash to make sure that I wasn't in my wifes ML. When I finally caught up with the car (road goes from 1 lane to 2 eventually) I saw that it was a C240 with some kind of vanity plates so for me to mistake it as a C55 prompted an eye doctor visit today. Maybe it was just shock!

Regardless, since these cars are semi-rare (at least around my neck of the woods) it spurred a question. Have any of you guys actually run in to your exact twin on the road (meets don't count)? The car I saw was me down to the percentage of tint (well, minus all the C55 goodies).

I'm guessing it'd be rare, but I'm curious as to how you handled it......

I'll tell you a quick story of how I handled the last time I ran in to my exact twin. The lease was up on my E350 Sport, traded it in for a new body style C350 Sport/White and tinted the windows my usual 15%. Was loving life until I started seeing the same car driving towards me every day on my way to work. When the dude started flashing his lights the C350 was traded in (lasted 10 monhts) for my C55 and I've been much happier (in more ways than one) ever since.

C240's are all over the place here...in fact...c classes are everywhere. Wait a second...but then again, so are benzes (there are 4 benzes out of the 5 homes on my court...only 2 bm'ers).

I've seen 2 other silver C32's in Atlanta, 1 red C55, and 2 silver C55's. But...I've never seen one with the factory wing that I have on mine.

Benz are a dime a dozen around my neck of the woods as well. AMGs are not however. The only other "LEGIT" AMG around me is a buddy on the boards here with a very nice C55 and some guy I have yet to meet with a superb CLS 55AMG.
If I ran into another 32 around here, I think I'd just have to line up with him and establish the order of things.hehe

Ive never ran into my twin, but have run into a black and a white one. My friend chased down my twin the other day thinking it was me...LOL. Turned out to be a red headed chick.

A day-walker!

When I first got the C55, I didn't really see many others in my area. Then a few started popping up, including black ones...I should have went with Mars Red!

My wife claims she saw a C55 Mars Red at a Target not far from our home-but this is the same women who thought the Kia Amante was a Jag......
I've seen 2 AMG's in MN so far this year (its still early here for nice cars to be out tho)-
a silver C55 with an 80 y/o driving it at 45 in the right lane, and a nice S63 tooling around from lane to lane without a turn signal.....

I don't think I'll ever see a twin even if I had one. What are the chances? That's why I ditched the rear wide chrome lip and black center look. Just too many around now and specially with those Challengers, SUVs, etc.

Yeah before we became freinds, I used to run into Turbo16lbs ride at my buddies apt one night a few years back. My buddy would call me up all the time. "Yo where are you?"
"i'm at home"
"no you're not i see you outside!"
I'm like how?"
"I see a Black C32 with rims and a CF LIP parked out on the street"
I shruugged it off and said "It aint me bc it's in the garage, must be a 05 C230"

So i go over and see almost a twin, (05 grille and HRE's) opposed to mine (black grille and DTM Kreuz's).

Take a look below and see the similarites.

My car is "old man" Pewter.

Hated it until I got the windows tinted (I've only owned black vehicles in the past and the 2008 C350 was the first time I stepped outside that mold). Now I think it looks like a big ole' sleeper.......unless you know what you are looking at.

two such occasions - i went to the gym like 2 months ago and the parking lot was packed... so i circle around for 10 min, finally finding a spot in the middle a couple rows back. i pull in, and as i get out i glance at the car to my right. white c55 with the same exact rims. looked the same except for my side badge and front grille.

not as interesting as when i was going to philly about a year ago, and as i'm taking the bridge between the airport and the city (from delaware), i see in my rear view mirror a silver c55 coming up fast... looked identical to mine, except the rims were stock 18s and mine are bremma 19s...

but i agree, its def weird when u see seemingly the same exact car on the ride...

but rest assured, the c55 is still quite rare... and will always be more fun to drive than the pretenders
