new brake pads

Holy crap. Take a look at my old ones on the left, versus brand new OEM ones on the right. I triggered the sensor and was down to about 18% of the pad left. Gotta say, easy install, took about 30 minute to do and no more annoying messages on the dash

do you have a vendor and/or brand you'd like to suggest? I will be needing brakes in few months (2004 S55) and would like to start shopping ceramics now

thanks

also, hows the wear and tear on the rotors compared to stock? I believe the OEM ones are semi metallic and my rotors are doing very well for having 35k on the clock.

I DON'T COME HERE ANYMORE
I'm using Axxis Ultimates now-and hate them for dust only-they junk my rims in 3 days (but I brake hard and often-every road is a section of race track in my warped mind)-
great braking tho (SS lines and fluid helps too....)-
Akebenokos (spl?-) are at the top-as are the Ultimates.....

Akebono Euro Ceramics are the lowest dust pad I've ever experienced. That said, I'll likely try something else soon... we'll see.

+1

I can't get over how little dust they generate, and they have a good bite.

But.... I don't like the squealing.

I have the Akebonos too and have had the same experience as everyone else. They squeak when cold, but have almost no dust at all. The dust they do have is light colored too so it is really difficult to see.

I heard people using the EBC Red Stuff pads or something along those lines. Do they squeak too?

a car that can't do the throttle reset.
How bad is the squeal? And what sort of life do you get out of them vs. stock pads? Are they safe on stock rotors?

I got full DiscItalia ceramic pads for the wifes C230 and full EBC Redstuff for the C32 with all new rotors for both. RLx02 my pads are about like yours on both cars right now. I guess I know what im doing next week. I will let everyone know how the discitalia pads are when they get put on. W/O thread jacking....How much and what kind of fluid is best for our cars?

I just use OEM brake fluid from mercedes and top it off. I accidentally put too much so I had to siphon some out with a straw lol. It feels a little bit spongy but a brake flush is like 80 bucks, so I'll just wait until my service B, which is due soon Bought my c55 with 26.4k miles on it; 5 months later it has 36.4k miles on it
