Hello, new owner of a C55 AMG
Hello fellow owners! I picked up this gem yesterday. 2005, 46k miles, perfectly maintained, diamond black. Includes dark maple wood grain, chrome AMG wheels (real, not aftermarket dipped), bi-xenon lighting, flat hood emblem, and CL style grill. Enjoy the pix!

Congrats, and welcome! I like the grille.
I bought my C55 in February and really love just about every aspect of it. Enjoy!

The car isn't registered yet so I technically shouldn't drive it. It's killing me.

Well on the chrome wheels, the receipt from the MB dealer states AMG oem wheels, but that doesn't necessarily mean it was done by MB. It could've been done by the dealer or outsourced. Touche'
And yes, I find the wood to be awesome too, that's one of the things I love about it.

Now it wasn't added on the sticker, it was added afterwards.
I have a question for you guys - when the engine is cold (initial startup) there's a "whirring" sound that comes from the engine bay and lasts until the engine is warm. Kind of like if there's a pulley bearing somewhere that's wearing out. Being that I don't have much experience around this engine, is this normal, or is something somewhere wearing out?
Thanks.

I uploaded a video of the sound. The engine is cold and warming up here, and I'm giving revs in the 1-2k range. Notice that as the engine gets warmer it starts to fade; at the end when I cut the engine you can hardly hear it anymore. Let me know what you guys think.
My buddy says its the air pump that it's the air pump that warms up the cats. But should it be this loud? Is it possible that the bearings have gone bad?

But is the pump itself electric? So would it matter based on rpm speed? Or is the noise coming from the cats themselves?
