I was hoping you'd have torn into yours by now and have a DIY tutorial ready to post
Considering the number of C-classes on the road and the inevitability of this particular failure, I am surprised nobody has attempted a DIY fix. Mine broke in driving position so I can afford to wait, but I would love to see someone find a shortcut to replacing the little plastic coupler.

DIY fix anyone?

Still no-one who happened to have fixed this him/herself by any chance?

Perhaps someone can help me find the partname/partnumber for the plastic coupler that is broken? How hard can it be to fix... (famous last words ;-))

I have made a couple of attempts to get in there and fix the coupling... they were not successful. Ive been driving around for about a year with my steering wheel at the highest position and a replacement plastic coupling in my glove box.
