I would have chosen the BMW M3 Cabriolet since BMW did not have a 4 door M Sedan. I did not care much for the coupe.

M3 SMGII or the NEW S4...probably more towards the NEW S4 because I had a 328Ci before the C32. Want a 4-door

second choice

Definitely the upcoming S4. But if I was not looking to spend $55k, I would seriously considering the upcoming Golf R32. My "winter" car is a GTI 337, and I've long been a fan of most VW/Audi vehicles. The R32, already released in Europe, has a 3.2L six with 240 hp, 18" wheels, Koenig leather seats, and Haldex all wheel drive. The uber-Golf! All for around $30k. I am waitlisted for one of these babies for my son. They will start showing up over here in early Fall.

Is the R32 going to be for sure be sold in the US? the last i've heard they were not going to sell them in the US and were very limited in production number.

oh yeah, btw, the TT 3.2 is coming out. It'll have the same engine from the R32/Phaeton.

Affirmative on the R32

Check out vwvortex.com for a lot of details. They are due here in September/October. My dealer has had my $1k deposit for a couple of months. I think they are importing 5,000 of them in the '04 model year, so it won't be quite as rare as the 337. Still, a pretty cool car for not a lot of cash. I think a very functional yet still entertaining 2nd (or 3rd) car for those of us dealing with winter.

Hey Frank, are you serious? I thought it looked not bad. The front facia looks meanerm; maybe not the traditional MB appearance... As for the tail light, I definitely don't like the current design of a big triangle. To me, it looks over-flowing (not sure it's the right word, but looks too much for a compact; though it's nice on the E and S).

On a side note, don't you think our car's frontal was ruined by Hyundai Sonata? Anyways, that's the comment I got from a few ppl who first saw my car. Either the next itteration of C should look more distinct and character-ful; or the damn Hyundai folks stop borrowing design cues from every other mfg. Quite honestly, I think my 32 had never gotten the attention as my friends' M3 did was b/c that day when we parked side-by-side, there was a Sonata parked next to me.

if I didnt get the C32

Since I was on a mission for a sedan, the others I looked at were the Audi A6 4.2 and the BMW 540i. After owning this car, I would have gone with the E430 sport. But hind site is always 20/20. Without it I would be driving the A6. something about that car just made me say... DAYUUM.

If I didn't get the C32...

I was consider E430 4matic. Actually C32 didn't even come to my mind when I buying the car. But I notice the new E will be out in 2 months (bought my car in Aug) and with one car short in the family (just lease return my A6), I just went for test drive and boom...here I'm.
I did consider a Mazda RX8...at least is a 4 doors.

Before i got the C32, i was considering S4 and M3.
Now i would consider a Z06 after seeing how fast they are at the track
