02' C32..Confused about s/c clutch noise???

Ok here goes...At idle I have a grinding noise that seems to be coming from under the s/c black housing between the s/c and the pulley bearing assembly and when the s/c clutch engages around 1300 rpm or so when in gear, the noise goes away and sounds sweet as molasses..The noise only is at idle so I figured it was the s/c clutch bearing..I know there is a s/c pulley bearing but the question is, is there another bearing setup behind the s/c pulley bearing under the clutch housing making that grinding? because I ordered the s/c pulley bearing frome code3 but I am wondering if i ordered the wrong bearing assembly or not?? If you get what I am saying here, please give me your opinion...

ps: with the car engine off, that black clutch that you can spin by hand between s/c pulley and s/c is where the grinding noise is coming from definitely..

if you spin the clutch by hand and hear a grinding sound it appears the clutch may be bad. i dont think you can get a replacement. m/b replaces the entire s/c for just the pulley bearing. if you want i can post on the crossfire forum for you and ask them. they may have the answers you seek

You think with what you read in my post that the pulley bearing is making the noise when I spin the clutch housing with my hand when engine off and also grinding/rattling at idle?? There is no actual clutch bearing to make that grinding/rattling noise that you know of???..Thanks

TRUST ME, its the supercharger clutch bearing. the one from code 3 is the right one.

I've replaced my S/C pulley bearing a couple of weeks ago. But, there is still a noise that sounds like high pitch metal to metal rubbing and I know its the S/C clutch plate hitting the main S/C. It seems the rivets that connect the plates are a bit loose.
The C3 flange has a slight wobble and the high spot hitting the main S/C. I was lucky enough to get free samples from a shim company and will install this weekend. The shims are .010" thick. I only have two shims currently mounted and I'm hoping another .020" will give the C3 pulley a friction free spin. There should be at least a .011"-.015" gap.
I used a Nachi bearing.
This C3 pulley I got has a production defect because the wobble was already there the first time I installed it.

if this is the sound you are hearing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAcmJRZrpBo

then it is the clutch bearing. rarely the clutch plate would make any noise when you turn it unless it's warped.

That is the noise exactly...But where is the clutch bearing...Is it the bearing in the supercharger pulley??? Is that also referred to as the clutch bearing??

to me that sounds like the s/c pulley bearing. i think folks are mixing up the terms clutch bearing and pulley bearing as the pulley has a clutch inside of it. i would change the pulley bearing and see if it helps. you have a bearing coming and its easy to swap
