Widest tires on 9.5" rims?

I have 19x8.5 in the front and 19x9.5 in the rear.

I'm about to buy these monoblock reps in 18"s because I'm kinda tired of the ride quality with 265/19/30's in the rear and want to downgrade a size.

http://www.powerwheelspro.com/shop/p...roducts_id=221

Question is, whats the widest tires I can put on the rears? I can get a pair of 285/18/35's for free and would just buy matching fronts but I don't think/know if that will fit.

Or am i stretched to the limit already with 235's on the front and 265's on the rear?

Thanks guys.

I'm no expert, but I would say there is absolutely no way that 285s are going to fit.

My car isn't lowered and I don't plan on lowering it anytime soon. I have 265's on the rear already...i guess i'll have to pass on those free set of 285's

the wheel well will allow 285, but you would need a absolutely perfect offset along with shaved inner for it.

265 is the widest normally people would go.

I Got 265 on at the moment, No problems with OEM offset on aftermarket wheels.

275 would be nice and flushed with your rim and lip of it
265 will have a slight, very slight stretch
anything more or less would either bubble, or have an obvious stretch

lol...i'm switching to 255 Toyo T1R in the rear soon. it's either give up my 4-piston rear caliper OR get 255/30/19.

keep in mind, not all tires are the same, some tires run real narrow, others real wide so it comes down to actual contact patch measurements. Some 255s = 275s and vice versa.

what does your tire size have to do with your calipers? or is this a price thing?

with the 4-piston caliper I need to run 5mm PFS on the 19x9.5 ET32 LMs. which makes the offset et27. The 265/30/19 I currently have I need to dial negative camber to avoid rubbing. The 255 will solve the rubbing issue and I can bring the camber back to almost 0.

OR I can take off the 4-piston caliper which I don't have to run the 5mm PFS and the 265 will not be an issue.

i would not sacrifice your 4 piston...just run hubcentric spacer...I have them on my fronts just to avoid expansion of the wheels when they heat up...i make alot of long trips...

Assuming the size you list (bolded for emphasis) is the right one, it won't work on a 19" wheel anyways, it is an 18" tire size. That said, (permitting vehicle fitment) 285s fit quite nicely on a 9.5" wide wheel.
