So mid summer this year i raced a 4 door e92 and i beat it light to light but i thought ahhhh probly some punk that doesnt no how to drive is brushed it off and didn't get to excited, of course i bragged to my boy that has a e46 of course he said the same thing. around 4 am on glenmore trail here in calgary i waz headed home when i look in my mirrors i see bmw headlights right on my *** scoping me out. i thought to my self w0000t!!! time for a 335 to get his *** handed to him, i throw it on s mode hit the "-" button my steering wheel and hit "eps" i punch it in sperts to let him no i am down. he pulls up and i waz lik "o ****"new e49 m3 white couple so w/e "never give up never surender" right?!?!?! so i hold my throttle at 1500 rpm and bang the right switches green and i go and to my surprise hes not in front hes not beside hes behind me and i am pulling slowly. i let off and he pulls up again and he 3 honks so i go and i jump again, he rolls down his window and he like "what the **** i raced those before and i beat them" i say i i dono man" he asks me if i got **** done to it i say no but really i do and he drifts on a off ramp and takes off.
But the ****ing weird part is i dont get it my self.
how can a maybe 350whp car beat a 450 crank hp car with launch control?
not the first time i thought i would loose and i didnt i beat 2 high 12s low 13 car and they were lik wat the **** .
am i the only 1 are do all ur light modded 55s beat lotta cars ?

a stock C55 is quicker than a stock E46 M3. Not quicker than a E92 M3 though. Guy probably didn't know how to drive. a fully modded C55 can pull on a E92 M3 though. Back when Hooley wasn't supercharged and was running airboxes, tune, full exhaust (including headers obviously), he pulled on one or two E92 M3s

Thats because a 335 has only 300 bhp.

It might have even been a 330tdi.

Regardless he's 5-700.00 away in mild mods from 400hp.

btw, cheonn, if you run into the wrong 335i, you will get smoked. most even lightly modded ones can keep up with the new E92 M3. a bunch of 335is are putting down well over 400whp and 400wtq and running in the 11s.

ooo i no my buddy has a 335 with avishnu chip with filters and down pipes and he get me by a half car. as far as the e92 goes i have headers,cats,res del,airbox and a tune maybe thats y i pulled on him.

gotcha. yah, your buddy is nicely modded, but by no means heavily modded. with your mods, i'm not surprised you pulled on an E92 M3

E92= Current Model, 3-series COUPE. E90=4 door, E91=Wagon, E92=Coupe, E93= Convertible

E49 doesn't exist, it's E46 M3 Coupe, if its a new model, its either a E90, 92 or 93 coupe, I dont think the US has a E91 M3 yet.

few question and corrections.

the E90/92/93 M3 is rated at 416hp crank. people dyno them stock around 340rwhp, so if you are putting down at least 350rwhp on the C55 (from what I read in your post) you should have no problem with the M3 with similar weight.

Is your C55 modded? edit: nvm...I just read your other post. LOL

335i is rated at 300hp, but it produces around 330hp at least since they can dyno around 270rwhp stock.

This is easy to explain. The AMG horses are just bigger than them skinny little high rpm Bavarian Motern Werkes ponies. That is how BMW can cram so many of them under the hood. They are smaller... lol

The Afalterbach horses are large, muscular, masterbuilt races horses with hairy hoves that pound the earth and big stainless steel ballz that strike sparks when they hit the ground.

Ya, lightly modded CLK55s can pull on DSG E92 M3s, they are fast, but they aren't THAT fast. C63 on the other hand... that's a different territory all together.

When it comes to straight line races the most important factor is not HP per pound, its TORQUE per pound... and in that territory the AMG is superior, the only reason M3 is so quick is b/c of its much more extreme gearing, without that it wouldn't even be a close race against the AMG. Obviously on a race circuit that's a totally different story, but in this case, that's not that surprising.

I had three goes with a new M3 in the I-5 curves up here and pulled on him every time. He put his head down and took an exit. I really didn't know what year it was at first but looked it up later and found it was a new one. Lots of horses but no torque I guess.

AMS Performance

from 0-80 its a relatively close race but once torque becomes a factor at higher speeds... amg will pull almost every time on top end.

its rev's...usually higher revving cars can pull higher at higher speeds unless you have really wide gears like a corvette. Just like F1 cars rev to 14k and go 200+ mph.

at higher speed gear ratio translate HP way better than torque.

it's like talking about the Veyron and McLaren F1. the latter has better power-weight ratio, but the former has crap load more HP. that's really the only reason the Veyron has the faster top speed.

AMS Performance

Torque is what gets you moving down the road. People act as if the AMGs have no power up top, that's simply not true. At high speeds high displacement motors are king due to their much broader torque curves. The M3 is quick but you can tell once you get close to triple digits they start falling back (same is true of the old E46 M3s and E36 M3s as well), they just run out of steam at higher speeds because of the lack of serious torque, the AMGs don't they keep pulling like a freight train.

On my encounter he came speeding up behind me and I just got over. I had no intensions of doing anything. He pulled up fast next to me and kept gunning it. So we where traveling at around 55-60. And when I put it to the floor I just started pulling away from him. On the second go I was in the center lane on a curve sweeping to the left and he was on the inside. Even being on the outside I still pulled away that time to. So whatever happened I don't know? But he sure wasn't happy afterward. When I did look the car up and read the HP, I thought no way! But my local machanic didn't seem to superised. And he works on all German cars and drives a BMW.

oh yah....tried to race it.....i gave it a little gas and the guy just looked over and gave me a thumbs up, kept driving.....i suppose he doesnt want to waste gas oh well.

i've been destroyed by a C6 Z06......that was truly something lol

and yah, that car is amazing, not gonna lie.

C6 z06 is a completely different league so don't feel bad. That car is truly ridiculously quick (even in stock form)
