Those of you still with resonators and cats...1/4 miles times...dynos...

There seems to be a consensus that removing resonators and cats doesn't do much for these cars (the idea being that the manifolds are the restriction here)...but I've not seen any numbers on the strip (where it really matters) or to a lesser extent dynos (for what they are worth) for cars still having both in place. Every solid drag time seems that the driver had removed cats and/or resonators...

If you still have your resonators and rear cats...please let me know your times (and even dynos if you have them...state dyno type if you would). Also let me know elevation and conditions during your runs...I'd appreciate it....I'm questioning the status quo (and hoping I'm shown everyone if right...just not sure I see enough evidence)

12.8 1/4 mile with 2.0 60 ft....297HP on Eurocharged dyno (dyno dynamics). Was 276HP before dyno tune at Eurocharged, the 12.8 was before tune. So new tune, modded LET intake(code3 w/LET) and better 60ft times should bring a much better et time.

From my experience with cars here in Lebanon, we do not have drags nor dyno here, but all i can say that all cars we drive here, me, my brother, my friends we take off all cats and always we see 3 cars in advance with car to car race without cats.

removing the resonator and secondary cats wont make a different power wise. like stated, the exhaust manifolds ARE the bottleneck. WITH that bottleneck in place, there is not enough exhaust flow to cause the resonator and secondary cats to be a restriction. i have no dynos to prove it, but just my right foot, butt dyno, and experience with the car.

Cats times
Bone Stock C32 ran 13.54 @102 with an DA of -230ft (cool day at a track that is at about 850 ft ab sea level).

With same car, at same track with only the C3P pulley and intake, the car ran another 13.50 @104 mph but the DA was very high due to temps in the low 90's to high 80's. The corrected time to sea level was 13.20 ET. That is about what I expected. During both meets it was beating the following cars:

Camero SS (late 90's model or newer with the rounded headlights, was in hi 13's)
Z/28 Camero also late 90's (this one was close)
Trans Am WS6 (he ran 13.93)
Mustang Cobra SVT 1998 DOHC

All those were stock or near stock street cars.

My response is OT but I just have to say...WOW, those are probably the highest stock dyno numbers ever posted! Even if this was on a dynojet, I'd still be amazed.
Nothing against you or your car but, I seriously question those numbers. I have a feeling the dyno wasn't setup properly. Stock should have netted you 280-290hp and about the same tq. Filters aren't going to make that much (if any) difference on a dyno.

+1000, unless your car already had tune and other goodiessss that you don't know lol.

Mine with MANY goodies from LET/EuroCharged just makes about the same or maybe a bit better

actually the dyno was fine . car made 5 passes. 1. 304hp 2. 307 hp 3. 311 hp 4. 323 hp 5. 321hp. let the car set for 30 mins with ice on the blower after pass 3 and 4. take your pic of passes. im happy with any one of them . ran the car to 5800 rpm just before puter takes over.
ill be redoing the dyno after my drag races fri. i now have c3 pulley modded intakes to add to the numbers. im guessing the hp will be close to the same but the torque down low is freakin amazin!

Friend of mine in his 2007 C55 AMG ran a PB of 13.1 this past weekend and he is totally stock I was really impressed. His trap was 103mph I believe I have the timeslip. DA was +500 so not bad.

hopefully i wont dissapoint. i have never run at a track before so im hoping toi just do good launches no redlights and finish strong. no idea how many runs ill get but hope to try at least 4 runs.i do know if my times arent up to par it will be my driving skills fault not the car. with the amount of rubber left on the ground and the seat belt locking due to the hard launches the car is a beast!!

Yeah he all stock and all stock parts are in place he doesn't want to mod it any and as far as the trap speed let me confirm the timeslip I have it at home as it was a pass against the jeep.
