Mercedes-Benz recommends AMG transmissions should have the fluid changed every 39,000 miles, especially if you drive it hard.

If you have not done it I would recommend it, from personal experience and reading various other articles its seems to help most of the time with shifting issues etc... or do a transmission adaptation reset on the TCU that helps also.

*** BREAKING NEWS ***

apparently crazypotato has figured something out about this issue. the CDI also has the 722.6 transmission. look at what they're doing to fix this same issue that they call "RSN"

It's a lot of tech talk I don't quite understand but I think it boils down to the TCC solenoid. If I'm understanding correctly one guy straight removed the TCC solenoid? Still reading but it does look like they're on to something.

After a new radiator, rebuilt tranny top to bottom TWICE (warranty) new TCU and god only knows what else, I still have the "jerk" and like many others, have learned to live with it.
The ECU reset trick (also search) has proven to be the most effective way around this, although it's only a temp fix. The issue seems to be with the tq converter and/or the way the adaptive tranny learns, so I'm told by the "pros" anyway.
I didn't read this entire thread since it's been beaten to death, but if I'm just repeating what's already been said, I apologize.
Good luck!
I agree 100%, its the adaptive program that messes with the lock up torque converter. Disconnect the battery every few months to reset the programming. It did it to me at the race track. Not happy.

You can also try the TCU throttle reset which makes the car re-learn your driving habits and throttle inputs. You'll see faster throttle response when doing this, the first time I did this I had to take my foot off the pedal the car was an animal, I wasn't used to such fast and full response from the throttle.

I believe it determines this for the first 45-90 miles, so drive the **** out of it for it to learn to drive that way... lol

Like my Service Advisor says, "These cars are made for the Autobahn, they don't know slow and comfort like the luxury models, so drive it like you stole it and it will drive perfectly every time!"

Throttle TCU Reset:

1. Turn ignition key to the ON (not start) position.
2. Press the gas pedal to the floor and hold it there for 5 seconds.
3. Turn the key to the "off" position (do not remove key), then release the gas pedal.
4. Wait for 2 minutes for the TCU and throttle to reset.
5. Your Done, turn the car on Foot to the floor and drive the **** out of it!

This is good for when going to the track, gets rid of the throttle input lag also.

I've tried the soft reset numerous times and find no real difference. Maybe I am having a computer glitch as MB already upgraded my tranny software.
