Does the c32/c55/clk55 share front brakes with other MB models

I wondered a little bit about if our 4piston front brake calibers(w203 and w209) are used on other models in the mercedes range? Like the older e w210 class or s class w220 ? Or any other perhaps?

and does the rear calibers from a w210 fit our model range?

Wonder only because i have been offered some Brabus parts from a w210 and a w220. But i dont know if they will fit my car and have search'ed all around but cannot realy find something about it?

The AMG 4 piston brake calipers came on the 2004 c230 sport sedan
The year after they went to 2 piston setup

no they weren't. The 4-piston brakes on the 2004.5 C230's used smaller brake rotors.

The equivalent C32/55 front brakes can be found on SLK55's, CLK55's, ML500's, ML55's, SL500's, SL600's, and some S and CL classes as well. Keep in mind that although they may look the same, the mounting arms may differ a bit across these models and some years may have gotten these brakes and some may not.

Clear as mud?

Yes the rotors were different however his first post asks about CALIBERS? Are the CALIBERS not the same on the 2004.5 C230 and the C32? I thought they shared the same CALIBERS. Can you not confirm the CALIBERS are the same?

It's easy to find out what cars share the same breaks and caspers just punch the part# into EPC under search and it will show you all the vehicle they fit.

e1000 is correct.

Another member recently attempted to retrofit four-piston calipers on his W203.
While appearing to be suitable upon receipt they were, after installation, discovered to be a mismatched pair.

should you not be comparing a C32 califer to a 2004 C230 Califer
Correct me if I am wrong, but those two califers look to be from a C230????

Dude are you drunk? It's caliPer!

Pictures are worth a thousand words: https://mbworld.org/forums/2744315-post896.html

Although the 2004.5 brakes are indeed 4-piston, they are much much different than the other 4-piston setups.

Hey Splinter I honestly don't think either of those two calipers are from a 2004.5. I think they are both from something else.

The link you provided clarifies what you were trying to prove
you are correct

The pic splinter provides I cant tell what that is from??

The caliper misspelling is a running gag as the OP made a typo in the first place and we were running with it.

Once again I cant believe I am wrong....

for all intensive porpoises, i think the stock 4 piston caulkers provide sufficient breaking forts needed for the street.

some SLK55's were fitted with 6-piston calipers and later were switched to 4-piston calipers due to customers complaining about brake squeal issues.

The stock 13.4" rotors + 4-piston fixed calipers are in essence a mild big brake kit in itself. With proper pads and brake fluid it is a very capable setup.

The calipers on a C55 are made by Brembo. It's in the casting on the back side of them, can't miss it, pretty big. If you are under your car and look over you'll see it.

fyi, brembo made all the big caliper up front for the W203 including the 05-07 sport calipers and all the veteran member posting in this thread knows this.

My sincerest apologies for not being a veteran and being so stupid and ignorant that I don't realize what others know. Thank you for your warm welcome to the forum and for being so condescending. It's nice to run into a God now and then.
