Lexus is-f

Has anyone ran one. I had a chance to run one last night at the track and was not impressed at all. He had an intake and tune that's what I was told by the owner. His best time was 8.4 on the 1/8 mile track. He was a bit upset after I won him with my truck LOL.

remember we were there a couple months ago and that IS350 and ISF went head to head and beat him in the 1/8th three times in a row. They are pigs and their times suck the big one.
Im not surprised.

BTW i guess thats why you called me last night to brag about it. Im glad i didnt pick up cuz the last thing i need to hear is another "Cracker Barrel Truck Victory"

i have not ran one, but i drove one on saturday when i swapped cars with my friend for the night. The isf feels like it pulls a little harder than the c55. the greatest improvement over the c55 is definitely the transmission as the c55s is super laggy and slow. The paddle shift system in the ISF is amazingly fast for a full auto transmission I would say almost if not as fast as the SMG/DCT transmissions

Are YOU SERIOUS

Sorry Bro. I own a 650 whp e46 M3 with SMG and the ISF doesn't event come close to a stock M3 with SMG.

I test drove the ***** out of one when they first came out in Fremont - LOL, you should've seen the look on the salesmen face (he turned white/blue) when I hit 140 right off the on ramp.... the tranny is their weakest point in my opinion. They shift slower than molasses.

The exhaust sound is very good however.

The new DCT is absolutely *******g amazing however.

nice , mines a 03 smg and looks alot different from my stock sig pic lol. what f/i kit do you have on yours?
true maybe i exaggerated a bit, not as fast as smg/dct. it is however faster than the 335i sport tranny and Fast shifting / auto rev matching for an automatic. do they make a software which speeds up the shift times on the c55?

Some hilarious chit chat in here.

Stock vs. Stock, the IS F will own the C32/C55 and E46.

AirFrcd, you're modded E46, must be a complete beast. Any vids in action?

Maybe in handling??? The IS-F is one of my current fav cars and I have even contemplated gettig the new 10 with the new diff they now offer. They are being "discounted" big time because of lagging sales. I dont think it was the sales hit that Lexus contemplated 9considering they sell 200-300 thousand of those lil egg shaped Rxs and also a ton of GXs as well.

I think that own is a very strong word here. I for one love the 8 speed ISf trans and it is considered one of the best by almost all of the motoring mags. It may pull on a C55/32 BUT ownage, it would be real close. I know I've beaten one in my lightly modded C32 (pulley and tune) . I even took two of the Lexus Drive schools last year in the ISf I liked the car so much. Not enough to get me to buy one though. Mario's son and Michael's brother was my instructor at both.

Very cool, sounds like you had a lot of fun.

I'm not trying to disrespect your cars but from reading the thread here regarding times and doing some research on the net, the stock C32/55 is a +5 second, 13+ sec @ 105ish mph car. The IS F runs mid 4's and mid 12's @ 114ish mph. Fairly significant I'd suggest.

Ironically, since I already have the F, I'm looking at a C63 as the deals are better than what Lexus is offering up here. I can actually pick up a new '10 C63 minus PP for a couple grand less than I paid for my F. Unfortunately, the wife thinks we should be more practical and add a GL to our ML and F. Hopefully I can convince her otherwise.

In Chicago, some dealers are practically giving away the 2009 IS-F. Now, if you're looking for a car that'll dust the IS-F, I'd spring for the 2010 December 2009 Production of the C63 and get the Package 031, called Performance Package Plus!!! Its got a different engine (+30 or +40 HP more) than the std C63 and can be had with the Torsen LTD slip as well as better brakes etc etc for about $5,500 over the base C63 cost. Its a no-brainer to me. The C63 PPP 031 is about as close as we in the USA will ever get to a DTM car.

??? ML CDI, ??? I'd take a pass on that one. Big , Heavy and unless you're towing, no real need for the diesel as you never know what diesel prices will do here shortly. Sell the IS-F (or trade her in), get a C63 with the PP + and you're good to go with an awesome 4 door sedan. I am reckoning these C63s 031 cars will be doing low 12's stock at 118-120!! Nice thing is, MB is doing most of the modding for us!!!

It's actually an '09 ML Bluetec and we love it. Premium diesel is 70 cents per gallon cheaper than premium gas and we get 32 mpg on the highway.

I wouldn't be getting rid of the F....just adding a third vehicle.

Ok i am proof that the c55 with just secondary cats and resonator deleted are faster than the Is-f's I raced a black one couple of days ago.. I first raced him at the track about 4 months ago and he finish at 12.8 at 110 and i did 13.0 at 108..
I ended up running into him ac ouple of days ago and we started talking.. he just got a straight pipe installed where resonator was. So we went from a 20 roll and i jumped a car ahead.. continued by pulling 2 cars by around 75 mph.. when we hit 105 he was only a car away and we went to 115.
These cars have amazing top end.. Then race number 2.. we did it from a stop adn he kept spinning and i grabbed on well with no wheel spin at all..

Own is a very strong word.
Ive taken on a IS-F and it wasnt anywhere near ownage and i wouldnt be prompted to purchase one because it is fugly and heavy.
.
Mr Canuck i think you may be biased in your assumption.
and there are plenty of mags that have done 0-60 in 4.8 sec with 1/4 mile times better than what you stated.

don't sleep the isf is a top end car.
my brother had one and he always walked me after 120mph.
stock they pull a mid 12's, and the tranny is no joke makes my c55 feels like it's a grandpa car
and my car runs 12.9
