i bet your car is not making more HP, perhaps a bit less. when summer comes around, it will make significantly less HP because of all the hot air being sucked in - the car will pull timing like crazy.

you need to isolate the engine bay from the air filters, using snorkels to feed fresh air to the isolated area...

oh and when you call me an idiot, try to use correct grammar. dullard.

ok kid maybe you should learn how to talk to people on this forum most of us on here have owned these cars before you even thought about driving a car. you are 16 years old and you probably think you know it all and thats fine we all have gone through that stage one thing is sure there is no need to call somebody an idiot for telling you the truth about your setup even if you dont like learning from your elders just put this into consideration most of the people on this forum have had their car for quite some time i would listen instead of arguing unless you have a dyno sheet saying otherwise. learn from other people's mistake, thats the point of the forum

Look, this in not a high school playground. The W203 has been out of production for 3 years now so, most everything has been tried, broken, modified and proven.

If you had attempted a simple search of this forum first, you would see that this discussion has been discussed many times, with pics and DIY step by steps.

The dudes correct.. Hot air in the motor = fail.. Just keep stock on.. Ram air works just fine.. Maybe upgrade to the c350 snorkels that are made out of something other then plastic.

i think in the future you should upgrade to the mushroom intake filter so you don't have that dead spot in the middle where the cold is coming in.

Temjin,
I can tell you a lot of us rx7 guys dont like the greddy/trust style intake as heat fill the engine bay and turns the filter brittle over time. Eventually peices of the intake get sucked into manifold or in my case, the T-78.

OP I think your intake is an improvement. Might want to save up for the Needswings intake. I have seen them on the crossfire and they are sweet looking but then again they use that filter I am not crazy about.

Even the title is exactly the same except for capitalization...

c32kompressor, the original design of your intake was my creation. I've kept the filters located in the rear of the engine bay, and created a...

Edit: Guess I somehow deleted the majority of this post. I had included photographs, and what not. Oh, well...

You know what he means by mushroom filter right? Those filters are as big as what you have now and would flow more air. Overall, it looks pretty decent. Heat wrap and heat shielding would be a plus. You could also do a partial enclosure (or dam behind them) around your filters and funnel it to the front where the original intake tubes went. Cooler air coming in and it would be directional...
