Noise help for the Newbie

Now this my first European car, so i have zero with experience. But the main point. I first finish install my SC bearing and new SC oil, test drive it and everthing is good. So come back home, pop the hook, and check for sound and i hear this weird noise (like whistle mixing with alittle of grinding noise) from the back of the SC near the firewall and put my ear up closer and i can hear from the back of the SC to the black box near the firewall, but i think it come from the black box (red arrow in picture is the area where i hear that sound). Can you help identifies this noise. Thanks alot guys.

That's the t-pipe that connects to the throttle body. did you install a code3 style air intake?

Nope, no sir. I think i never hear that noise before. Do you think when i change that Jet Oil in there make a different? If you not yet change that jet oil on your SC then you listen to your motor before you put is it just to see if they make any different. You be the guinea pig

So you already did change your SC oil right? SC oil shouldn't reach the back of the SC AFAIK. I will change the SC oil tomorrow. didn't have time to do it yesterday. Those needle bearings in the back of the SC have their own grease on it. Once those needle bearings go, then you have to rebuild the whole SC. When you changed the SC oil out, was there a lot? what color was it? Can you use a DV to record the sound? any grinding noise is not good imo. make sure the hose connecting to the intake is on too.

Wait! hold up! what is the SC AFAIK? I just suck the oil out of the SC from the little hole behind the ilder. I did stick that line in there about a feet try to get all the oil out and pump them back in that it. I'm missing something here. When i change the oil out, it still have about 110-115mL, so that is alot. The color was dark brown simmilar the color of the Jet OIl. I will try to listen to it tomorrow if and post it up.

AFAIK = as far as i know. I'm saying the oil actually doesn't travel all the way back so i doubt its the oil causing the "noise". that much came out huh, then ur SC should be in pretty good shape imo.

Well the picture is not that clear at the splitter area, but it looks like you have Code3 intake installed that you may not be aware of.

Can you touch the back plate to have a feel? If it's curved in from two sides to the middle then it's stock. If it's flat and grid then you are lucky to have Code3 free

And if you have code3, then no surprise

I did touch the back of it when i hear noise and yes indeed it is the stock one. But there is just to much of the dirt build up on it. I need to test drive the car again tonight and listen to that sound few more time to make sure.
