How much have you paid (recently) for new headlights?

Searched the living Hell out of the million and a half DEPO threads but I couldn't find many posts that were all that current, regarding aftermarket, non-OEM clear headlights that people had bought for the C32/W203. I know, I know, I know - Bi-Xenon or bust, but I can't afford 'em right now and since my extended warranty won't pay to replace the burnt driver's-side socket, I've got to buy some Depos/Sonars/etc... ASAP!

Been looking at these Depos w/ a pre-installed HID kit for $360 - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2001-...Q5fAccessories

... and others like these, for about $240 + a separate *good* HID kit of my choosing - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/01-05...Q5fAccessories

So, I guess the big question is - am I getting bent over, paying $350-$400 for clear headlights? Any suggestions for good actual websites to buy them off of, instead of eBay? Also, do the vertical lines on the plastic of the Depos really look that bad in person, or is it just the pictures? Thanks in advance!

if you just want clear head lights, the eagle eyes are the cheapest.

Good God are those cheap! ... I hate for that to be the motivating factor to buy them over the others, but given that I'll have this car for at least 2/3 years minimum ( :: knocks on wood :: ), might as well save $100 now that can be put towards *real* Bi-X later =)

That being the case... any good suggestions for where to shop for a HID kit?

Also, any idea if those take H7s for the low-beams, like most of the other Made In China models?

i believe there h7's. I don't remember since i completely modded mine. All the chinese hids kits are pretty much the same. Just buy from someone with good feedback.

I think the 50watt hid kits are around $50-60 on ebay.

Is 50w a necessity, with the whole flickering issue thing? That was the other thing that I couldn't find a concrete answer to in any of the threads.

I was looking at IntenseHid.com - $120 with free shipping, great reviews all over the Internet, *very* slim ballasts... Worth the extra dough, you think?

u need the 55watt hids or your head lights will turn off unless you do the xenon present setting. Regular hids are 35watt, the ecu will assuming one of your lights are out and turn off the headlights.

Anyone got any feedback on if these are good and how they look on the car? If postage is good I'll grab these, don't want to spend time on HID, just want the crystal/clear look feel and not opaque.
