Even if the battery has high CCA (especially for the extreme weather conditions), our stock electrical system is pretty demanding. The stock battery is 100Ah - I wouldn't trust a 20Ah battery, even if the alternator was running.

I personally hit the treadmill to lighten up the car (although it may be hard to tell) and kept my old battery.

I am not afraid of it. Cranking/life is most important. I don't turn the engine off and turn on all the music + other accessories on anyway. I have my home theater. So ... it's definitely my next try when my battery goes out.

What I was most concerned with was that I was under the impression that with dry cycle batteries, if you don't drive them for a few days, they go dead. I don't know if that is the case here, but I couldn't deal with that.

I could certainly use some time on the good old treadmill, but that still won't take weight away from the front of the car (which they tell me is a big deal).

I would just contact Rob from Needswings and ask him all you questions about the battery. He is a super guy. No BS. As mentioned earlier, our cars get really "cranky" if they are not getting the right amount of "juice". It is a nice mod, but would be one of the last ones on my list.

Yeah, that's what I'm going to do. I just wanted to get your guys opinions before I wasted his time. Rob is definitely a great guy. I bought my plugs and wires from him. Very helpful.

Here's my email to Rob and his response:

Hi, I was wondering if the Shuriken Light Weight Battery Kit is intended just for drag race or would it be suitable for every day use. I'm not too worried about the amp hours or cranking power, but rather if the car can sit for a few days and still have juice left. I was under the impression that dry cycle batteries needed to be charge often. If not, I'm definitely buying one of these. Thanks, Chris

It’s been in my srt6 since October here in Michigan and I fire up the car about once a week, so far so good at 20-30f here. As for how long the car can sit, that I don’t know but I haven’t not had any problems with our car sitting in the cold and firing right up.
Thanks, Rob
