This is how i would shoot for 12.5 being NA If i was doing it again.
I'd buy a RENNtech R.A.T remote tuner. I would have a pump gas file made and a 109 Octane race fuel file made.
I would get a RENNtech airbox, Long tubes, no cats, dual custom exhaust, slicks. Maybe some cams and pulleys. Then I would follow weather info from the past year to see what month and temp offers the best DA. Get out to the track at the time the DA is falling to just about its lowest point. Do a smoky burnout in dyno mode. then launch that bad boy the best you can without wheel spin. It could happen. stars have aligned before.. so Im sure it will happen again. Get that mod fever. Its 100% addicting.

and FWIW the money I would spend on supercharging my car would be better spent on a downpayment on a cls55 or c63
*edit* Do we know what c55asleep? ran off the bottle? I don't want to squeeze at all.

I couldn't find anything about how much rwhp the C55 is supposed to pick up with the long tubes. Any dyno time on an N/A?

That's funny. I posted a 12.66 4 years ago on Drag times. and it was done with Kleemann parts & there box tune and a Qualfe TB diff. It was on a less than perfect track & a head wind. This car at that time, dynoed like 341 Hp & close to 360 rear wheel torque. Oh yeah, I also had a Renntech air box & Green filters As I've said before , You can race Dynos all day long , but the record is set at the track. So 12.5s is abtainable. Cheers

12.5s
Well not exactly , It was a 03 CLK 5.5 AMG N/A engine. I believe if you do a Search , you will find my Time slip posted here several years ago. 12.5s is very abtainable, The biggest hinge point is the exhaust restriction. I chose Kleemann at the time because they had a proven track record & Great Customer service. Cory has been more than helpfull through the years.

Now here's a good question. I'm assuming most tunes, including my kleemann tune is optimized for 93 octane, so would race gas help at all? I can get a drum or so from a local gas station here but I don't know if it would do anything or not.

I installed the Kleemann 200 cell Random tech cats, I did a whole thread on the exhaust over in the W-208 / W-209 CLK section.with before & after dyno charts. I found on a well perpared track ( Hard to find most days ) I got by without a Posi rear diff. But on the street , with street tires, the Qualfe made a day and night Difference. I do believe the Qualfe, should be a part of the 1st stages of mods. We seem to spent more time on the street & the track. Cheers _PTEngineering

2001: Supercharged E55 AMG
Update please, will i see 40 WHP gain over my Kleemann mid/shorties with the MBH headers? Or 40 Whp on a stock 55 N/A engine? Do you have dyno charts to share?

RLx02,
If you can find a VP dealer you want to ask him for a drum of oxygenated race fuel. It is called MR9 and it will set you back maybe $15 -$20 per gallon.
But it will make an honest 6% to 8% more power than pump gas. So on a motor making 350 RWHP you are going to see almost 380RWHP without doing anything else. We would see 8Hp out of my 750cc race bike with no other changes.
Is this BS? Well, we never found it to be BS at all. It worked as claimed. I ran the stuff when I raced AMA Superbike and Supersport and if I didn't have it in my tank I would get smoked down the straights.
The first one to buy and use it will be shocked at the difference. I would double check to make sure it safe for Cat. converters. Well I am sure the stuff is leaded. But if you ran it for an afternoon or your cats were out. I think they make some unleaded fuel that is oxygenated too called U4.4 which is claimed to make up to 6% better power. I haven't used this gas but I would guess it will do pretty close to their claimed pwer increase. We used to run a lot of their gas and provided you got the right fuel it could make a pretty big difference in perfromance, but it has to be one of the Oxygenated Fuels.

PM Hooley. I know he used to have Evosport Shorties and then dyno'd with his new LTs and gained a ton of power over those shorties.
