Mastro's or Drinkwaters is the best steakhouse in all of Arizona hands down. Nothing beats the 36oz Prime Rib. I go to the on near Scottsdale Mall like every other week. Sorry to hear about your dude. I seen it sitting there when I came in the shop that one day and now it no longer lives

My C55 was kinda like that ribeye.. Here one second gone the next. What sucks is I never got to know what the car could really do with a rock solid trans. It only had about 500 miles on it. FWIW that trans felt like it made a night and day difference.

Sorry to hear hooley, that sucks!
Your next project will be a AMG BEAST! Can't wait to see what it is...
Are you going to buy back the car from the insurance company? Or just let it go?

05 C55 AMG
As far as the pedal is concerned I check mine just about everyday now just out of fear of being toyotaled by it accelerating on its own.
I wonder how widespread this problem is and if we all complain if it would actually get anything done. My guess is prolly not.

On to newer and faster things. I thought I would have never left the 32, but now i'm amazed I didn't leave earlier.
Can't wait to see the next ride...

Mike, Damn man that truly sucks. Like I said before I watched your progress from a very nice C55 to probably the fastest one on the planet.
Good luck with the next project. I'd love to have a SL55 myself.
Looking forward to hear what you've got planned next!
Be safe!

2006 C55 AMG White/Ash
I'm sorry to read this, hope it all works out as best it can. I will say I plan on taking my gas pedal out and figuring out a real fix. I suspect I will end up drilling and screwing the cover in place. I still think a call to an attorney is a good idea, this was because of a design flaw not your fault.

Find a Lawyer! Should be no problem finding one to take the case on retainer given today's climate.
The fact that you had so much hard work and personal time invested in the build should only make the case stronger. Don't be afraid to ask Mercedes to compensate you for something that seems to be not entirley your fault.
Good luck, and glad you weren't hurt.

GoodBye... The Quickest/Fastest C55 AMG
Mike, I'm still in shock as I read this thread.... I can't believe your beast is gone just like that Watching your build, research, and progress throughout this incredible journey was one of the most enjoyable, educational, and inspirational experience on this forum. Meeting you in person, and watching your car run at a track-event along-side the quickest/fastest AMGs out there added and even stronger connection. I literally witnessed your car dispatch many great contestants on the track - all while having a bad tranny and almost zero traction. I can't even imagine how quick/fast it would've went with a good tranny and a decent traction setup.
Farewell to one of the most unique AMGs out there....

Sad to hear about the car. I wish I had some extra cash, I would love your sc and trans! Good luck on the next project! BTW if you part it out any idea on pricing of the sc and trans?

2005 C32 4Matic - That's Not A Typo! :D
Hooley, I'm really sorry to hear this but I'm glad it was the car that took the brunt of it and not you. Your car was the dictionary definition of a labor of love and an absolute work of art so I hope this wasn't the means to an end but rather the segue to seeing you blow us all away again in the future with something new.
Take care
