Can you give us an idea of what the special price is? Or do we all have to email for price?

Thanks for offering!

Being a brand new post, I would prefer to have you email me and let me know you're interested. The pricing is somewhat contingent on the number that we get requests for. What I can tell you is that my goal is to get them gone for somewhere around $1195. Does that sound like a good price for you?

What? C32! Does that mean it will work on a SRT-6? Please say yes. (I doubt it)

i wish obx would make a quaife lsd knockoff. the honda crowd gets them for $599, vs $1200 for a quaife..the internals are identical

obx lsd sux...they break after 3months. There's a reason why the 1000hp supras are running quaifes and don't break. Where as the obx lsd breaks under a 200hp honda.

cool story bro

luckily we don't have 1000hp, so we dont need to worry about that. the honda guys give them good reviews, so do the nissan guys.

A $599 OBX Diff has a limited one year warranty
A $1200 Quaife Diff has a limited LIFETIME warranty. (smart buyer????)

A quick search reveals Quaifes dont break
OBX's do,

but feel free to purchase whatever you want Dberry.
bc youre always right!

Considering the labor's what adds up (and really, not many folks are going to install their own LSD)... the Quaife ATB does sound like the better "peace of mind" buy here. Or Kleemann's LSD, which is $900.

lol...just google obx lsd. You get a bunch of hits of "Buyer Beware" "OBX LSD = CRAP"

There's even a guy who had problems with his obx lsd on a stock b16.

the quaife is definately a better choice for high hp applications. Even if you break it on the track, they will replace it for you. Not many manufacturers offer that kind of warranty.

If your going to stay mostly stock, the phantom grip has had some pretty good performance. I know pshek's been running his phantom grip on his 185mm c32 engine for over a yr without any problems.

Didn’t know Kleemann’s was only $900. Thanks for the tip. A limited slip differential is next on its upgrade list.
It’s an oft-appreciated $180 factory option included on the workaday GMC.
Had I not just forfeited a wheelbarrow-full to the County, State and Feds, GoodSpeeds’s offer would be a done deal.

Seems the correct usage of its/it’s, your/you’re or there/they’re/their is no longer de rigueur on automotive forums.

TemjinX2 has proven a worthy and contributing member.
He's a good guy to catch up with during canyon cruises, too.

I have to wonder sometimes about Quaife pricing too. A Detroit Truetrac torsen LSD for a Jeep is around $400. Then again, aren't all Merc drivers so fabuously weathly that they don't care.

At an EC tune day, Lenin told me that he had all sorts of trouble installing his quaife in his 2002. He said the first run C32's were different than the rest and his mechanic had to do all sorts of things to make it work. Anyone else experience this?

Yes, I said that. Had to get new/updated rear axles. But it's still one of the best mod that I've done.

Gotta love the tax man. FWIW, Quaife seems to be the better absolute option here, so for an extra couple Franklins, the juice is probably worth the squeeze. Plus the better warranty (all Kleemann stuff, AFAIK, carries a 1 year, unlimited mileage warranty - as mentioned earlier, Quaife is lifetime, regardless of street/race). JMHO.

TemjinX2 is a great C32 resource. I'd cruise the canyons with you guys but I'm on the wrong coast; just keep an eye out for his friends, though. Zing! (kidding, kidding)

Isn't the Kleeman LSD exactly the same as a Phantom Grip for $400 less?

Exactly? Probably not - but I do believe they use the same basic design principle.

While on the topic - does Phantom Grip make a LSD option for C32s and C55s? Their site advertises an option for the SLK32, and I'm aware of SRT-6's using it (which is the exact same as the SLK32 diff), but ours is different. And they don't show a C32 or C55 option. I'm not saying they don't make one, but if they do, they need to update their site.

Judging by the pics on Kleemann's site, it sure does look similar to the Phantom Grip. Damn, how cheesy.

If it makes some of you feel better, my Quaife in my crx wasn't that much cheaper than the price that's in this thread. Not often that you can say that about MB performance mods.

I think the SRT and SLK guys only use the Phantom grip because it's their only option. I've gotten the impression from the crossfire forum that they're not even that enthused with it.
