well both heads have been reskimmed as the new mechanics say they were not perfectly done but theres still no evidence of that being the cause of the coolent loss, even though they say it is most likly as the gaskets used are metal and so the serfice must be straight, but i dont want to put the engine together again and still have a problem because then i will have to get it striped again to test the block so im gonna get the block taken out and tested whilst the heads are off and if the block tests ok then , well it must be because the heads werent perfectly skimmed............the saga continues

1. How much coolant are you losing (at least guestimate) and how long does it take to lose this quantity?
2. Is coolant lost when you drive the car?
I guess what I'm getting at is - have you tested the obvious? If you have another car that you can use, fill up the coolant system and leave it in an area for a period of time where you can monitor for any coolant loss on the ground. That may indicate leakages at hosing or the heat exchanger.
Alternatively, it may indicate a leak in the main coolant system - i.e. the main radiator / heat exchanger and associated plumbing.
3. You said your mechanic checked the intake runners and there are no signs of coolant caked on the sides of the runners.
You also alluded to the fact that no coolant is evident in the valley between the heads.
It appears as if you only have two other real possibilities:
A. The head gasket job you had done wasn't done correctly or else there was underlying damage.
Just for giggles, remove the oil cap and take a look inside. If you don't see any signs of coolant mixture, change your oil and inspect it.
B. The intercooler is in fact compromised and coolant is leaking from that.
Since it seems that you have no other options or answers at this stage, remove the supercharger and intercooler (not a difficult job by the way) and test the integrity of the intercooler.
Pressure test the unit as you would for a radiator and test at various pressures. Place the intercooler into a container of water, apply pressure and look for air bubbles.

Any chance you can get coolant in the engine via the coolant-oil heat exchanger that sits next to the oil filter? I've got a small coolant leak. No emulsification of the oil, but an overnight pressure check resulted in coolant in the bottom of the oil pan.
