Just a Quickie!!! Bit of advice that is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AMG Engine Tag????
Hi All,I have recently bought a 2001 C32, and wow pretty impressive!!!! But i have read that every hand built engine had a plate signed by one engineer who assembled it. I have seen these plates on later models but not on mine???????????????? Does anyone know if this information can also be tracked through Mercedes or AMG! Any advice or help would be much appreciated, thanks,

that would be great if they do.. im sick and tired of the occasional guy sayin "pop the hood so we can see" then sayin "not a real hand built AMG motor, theres no plaque" guy always ends up on the ground with a bloody nose.. my knuckles are also gettin tired..

I will look into this parts.com route, hopefully they can retrieve the engine tag, you would think mercedes would help tho!!!

if anyone doesnt think its an amg motor have them lean far in to look behind the SUPERCHARGER. as they are looking slam the hood on them!!!
doubt parts.com can get you a specific plaque as m/b says they have no record of who built the engine. gl though and let us know if you find out who built it.
look at the blower. theres no place for the plaque to be placed. didnt start until 2003

I have an 02 with a spot for the plaque on the supercharger. I guess it must have been replaced with a newer model.....

2002 C32 1987 190E 2.3 334K miles and going
The new one came with a flat blank square where normally the badge would sit on. I guess replacement SCs came blank and it's up to the owner to install their original badge back on or someone swiped it off. .
