V1 Hardwire on a C32, help

I want to hardwire my Valentine One in the C32 and use my remote. Looking for a power source that turns on with ignition. Is there any wires set up to do this? Corvettes have a set of 3 wires behind the floorboard of the passenger footwell. Wondering if we have something like this. If not, easiest place to hook up and suggested spots for the V1 remote unit. Thinking of modifying a bracket and putting the unit up by the mirror, passenger side, out of the way of the driver.
Thoughts, suggestions, ways to do it neatly....THanks,

i saw two wonderful installs on the v1, one had the little light array sensor readout thing mounted just below the non command head unit, in that worthless pocket, and the other one had it mounted right by the instrument cluster.

aparently tweeters (used to be bryn mawr) does a wonderful v1 install, but if you are more a DIY person you should check out benzsport, they know about everything you could ever want to know about wiring relays, and installation

Torch, you may want to check out this page.

This V1 was installed on a SLK, however, the wiring may be the same for what you are looking for.

Looking to tap in lower, not into homelink, as its in the mirror. Does the side window pieces pop out on my C32 like that? That will help hide the wire. I have the remote unit in my ashtray of the Corvette and want it similiar, so I am looking in same place when it goes off. Just do not want to drill any holes. Need a power source down lower.
Thanks, still looking. Could not register on the benzsport site, so not able to post, just look. Something to do with XP and I could not do their fix. I sent them an email with the problem.
Still want suggestions, I know where I want to mount the main unit, almost exact same place as that guy did, but want the power source down low, not by mirror. Either way a wire must be run to the remote unit.

The only two ignition-switched sources are two empty fuse slots (6 & 7) in the REAR fuse block in the trunk. You can run a wire under the carpet and trim very easily.

Can you hook into an existing fuse? Like the cigarette lighter? I would never use it anyway. Anyone know the #? and location? Wish they had some wires left for this purpose! Thanks,

I have a V1 hard wired into my S500 and my father has one hard wired into his S600. We both had the dealer doit, they installed it for free and it is an extremely clean and professional install. Just have your dealer doit, it is the easiest way. They should doit for free, if not there would be a small labor charge.

Surprised they would do it for free! I would like to do it myself, though you might have the right idea, ask the dealer what to hook into. Thanks, though still open to suggestions here and ways to do it. I want to make some sort of bracket for the mount and put it up close to top of windshield. Looking at some kind of bracket to hook it up to the sunvisor mount, but not interfere with using it, as my wife likes the mirror!

I am not sure about this, but if you do go poking around in your car trying to doit yourself you may void some warantees. So even if you are going to doit yourself atleast check with your dealer to make sure that it is ok.

Torch, I guess they did it for free because my dad has bought more than 5 cars from them in the past year, lol.

I stress "only".
You're welcome to check for yourself, but you'll find that every other fuse in the car has constant power.

good reason! My first, so not so sure they would be as accomodating! I am going to send them an e-mail and ask. Good comments.

Not doubting you, I know the garage door opener will not work without power, thought the cigarette lighter would be the same way. This is becoming harder than I thought it would be. I wrote the dealership an e-mail to ask their advice.

Please pay attention to Redc230K... you do not want to cut into any factory wiring. Besides, all the accessories mentioned so far are HOT all the time, so splicing in to those wires will not help. All the fuse slots forward of the driver's wheel are HOT all the time.

The only switchable fuse locations in the C-Class are slots 6 or 7 in the rear fuse box. Although I believe someone with a C32 reported earlier that one of these (#6, I think) is taken, leaving #7 open, unassigned, and available. Both slots are open in the C320/240. My Bel980 is wired to #6.

It's not hard to run a positive wire to the back along the kick panels, and ground the negative at the Drivers side fuse box.

Keep in mind that much of the wiring in modern Mercedes is Multiplexed. So you definetly dont want to cut anything.

MB-BOB is the one that told me how to do it and it worked great - and was easy!
