Ironically, from what I hear, we have a 680HP max limit on the law books. I can't think of hearing it be enforced.
mental note... look up statutes and see about actually finding this law so I know for sure

Obviously if your nearest neighbor is 50miles away vs just spitting out the window and being able to hit 20 people. You don't need those laws.

You damned near can't even modify your car for more power. Correct me if I'm wrong? But in Ca, if a cop pulls you over and sees non factory equipment (say, NOS) on a street driven car, he can impound the vehicle?
I actually work one street down from them so if you need an inspection/information on the car I will be more than happy to stop by there.
Send me a PM if you are interested.

But to refer to your question, the answer would be no because its not illegal to have NOS or nitrous installed on your car. It is illegal to use it though..

By "Illegal", I mean, say for example, tint?
I know that here, in this state cops can't enforce other state's automotive laws, and as such, will not give you a ticket for say, a lack of a front license plate if the car is registered out of state.

I would only worry about it if you plan on taking a trip to CA anytime soon..
