Nice treat headed to the shop tomorrow
I know some of you seen back in the day a whole C55 interior for sale on ebay... Jogg your noodles... Well, that came out of a C55 that was turned into a full on race car. The engine was pulled from this C55 and shipped off to RENNtech for a full motor build. NA power being king for road racing the motor was build with that in mind. Compression ratio was bumped to 13.1. Other than that I'm bot sure what else went into this motor...
Strangle the car was sold. The new owner felt a full on 13.1CR motor hand built by RENNtech wouldn't cut it in the local drift scene. So that motor was pulled and a 2JZ Supra motor was going to be installed... I'm a fan of anything is possible, but it was like trying to fit a square into a circle. The 2JZ is just way to long to be crammed into a C55 even with the W209 front clip.
From what I hear the car sat in a back yard for some time. I can only imagine the grass and weeds growing around it... In another turn of events the old owner bought the car back. The motor that RENNtech built was out and then put back in. So it looks like this car is going to have another shot at life.
The car is headed to Dyno-Comp tomorrow, for buttoning up, retuning and long tube headers. We get alot of exciting AMG builds, but nothing really like this, IMO. Maybe its because I'm a softy for a C55. However you just dont see a 55 motor pushing 13.1 CR, purpose built to road race.
When the car arrives tomorrow (Wednesday) I will take some pics of a c55 race car. To me, even the idea of this car is cool.

2005 C55 AMG
Very interesting story. Someone obviously has tons of $$ to let what was originally a $60,000 car a mere 4-5 years ago sit around with an additional $10,000 + invested in the motor alone.

I was out sick yesterday, when the car arrived. I'm mustering up the energy to head in today. I'll take some pics and get some info.

Sadly guys, There is not much to write home about. I seen the car today and its kind of a mess. We pulled it on the dyno for a base line. Long story short, The car would not shift out of 1st gear. It was also missing a the airbag and wheel controls. So there was no way to but the car into dyno mode... So looking for the ESP, It was quickly realized it no longer exists.
If DC is to get this thing road worthy its going to take some major TLC along with some time. To be honest with you the car sounded like a stock C55 even when revved.

Rhd Integra, C55
It is almost a shame to see a c55 like this, I thought it would have been built to a higher standard than this
Misc. items are just hanging around and it looks like it doesn't even have windows
This is going to be a bad *** car when done though

I thought it would be built better too. It looks like some one who tried to make this car into a drift car then seen the traction control button and didnt think they needed it. It took me at least 5min to find the OBDII port. I think the original owner and now new owner of the car is going to bring this car back to life.

Actually he had selected patches throughout the inside of the car in suede and it really set it off interior wise. It gets to much when the whole doorpanel and roof lining get suede though IMO ...

Out Of Control!!
Wow, that car is stripped! Do you know how much it weighs? The dash looks nice but everything else, not so much. Did Renntech build this car or just the motor?
