Quick question about crankshaft pulleys
My RENNtech crankshaft pulley has developed a wobble. It's to the point now where I don't dare drive the car any longer.
Is it possible to have these things re-balanced?
I made a call to the closest RENNtech authorized dealer in my area. (70 miles away) and they are in the process of getting me a quote for a new one. I assume it's going to be $500-$1000 for a new one?
IF that's the case, would there be any problem going with a different brand? As long as it's the same size? (178mm)
Here's a quick video:

Hi Chazz,
My car is experiencing the exact same thing! My crank and tensioning pullies (the one above the crank pulley) are currently wobbling badly.
Local Indie told me that the bearing is shot, so time to get new pullies. On a positive note, it gave me a reason to just upgrade them![devil](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/devil.gif)
I got a great deal on 185+Tune+Heat Exchanger from EC, I also added NW 185 Pulley Saver Kit+NW ISO to ensure durability and maximum cooling.
I would contact our forum vendors/sponsors and check if they can give you a deal on a 178 or upgrade to 185 plus tune for a bit more.
Good luck!

After MANY calls and emails to Dyno-Comp and the regional RENNtech manager, I found that nobody want's to sell me just the crankshaft pulley. They say I have to buy the entire kit for around $1700.
So, would there be any problem buying say a Evosport pulley? As long as they are the same size? (178mm)
