Just purschased C55 AMG

I recently just purchased a 2006 black on black C55 AMG with 87k miles on it an looking for some mods.
Being that i am 17 years old i am on a limited budget any suggestions would be a great help.

Not gonna happen man. Cheap mods can't be found for any Mercedes.

You already have a very well setup car, learn to drive that first.

resonator/cat removal will free up like 30 HP under $200 and make your care sound a lot better. A Eurocharged tune will get you another 15-20 HP around 5-700

AGREED...... 17 and a C55 UNREAL. I am unsure of what previous experience you have with powerful cars but being 17 I'm sure it's limited. I am not trying to put you down or insult you but you already have a GREAT car and you should learn to enjoy it as is. Once you feel comfortable commanding the horses you currently have under the hood then you should start to think about mods for more power. Let me be the first to welcome you to the club, congratulations on your AMG purchase. Believe me there will be more to come after you get acquainted with the beauty and power that is AMG

P.S. your car looks great!!

Congrats on the car, and welcome to the forum.

Getting more out of these cars are obtainable and many different mods can be done, but in no way are they cheap or easy to do sometimes. Happy modding! Can't wait to see what your first mod is.

Drive in enthusiastic spirit!

WOW.... well you are lucky to say the least OR perhaps unlucky as you may disappointed with your next car purchase unless you are going to buy another AMG, M3 or something along those lines. You have set the bar PRETTY high with the C55 as your FIRST car . That being said I wish I had a C55 when I was 17 . Stay safe and enjoy the car, you have quite the machine.

my first car was a mid 60's (HeckFlosse) 220S, it was a Grey market car with the awesome hugh headlights but it was a POS. the equvalent<SP?> car for me when I was 17 would have been a 190E-16v. That would have been awesome!

Save up for some longtubes and a stall.

Sweet ride, congrats. Just respect the power.

My first car was a 1984 El Camino Conquista 305 V8. But bought a 1993 Firebird Formula when i was 17 back in 2000. It had some light mods. I still remember toasting that CLK430 from a dead stop. 1st cool race I ever had. (84 El Camino vs 73 6 cylinder nova is not cool)Fun times.

Depending on where you live I'm getting ready to sell the wheels off of mine.

Enjoy it, and be careful with it.

NOT TO THREAD JACK but.....
Funny you mention it as for my first car I had a 1984 Z28 with the 305 H.O. and 5 speed in it. I DUMPED $$$$ into that car and only got about 300 hp out of it . I will say it was VERY fun when I was a kid and it sounded GREAT!!! I got myself into a lot of trouble with that car . I still remember the first "good" race I had when I SMOKED this new civic that was RICED out to the max. I had spent all of the money on the engine, exhaust, and suspension, the paint job was primer black and it looked like a POS so I'm sure the civic thought he had a chance but I blew his doors off with my friend in the car with me. Those were the days........ Now I peel paint in my AMG On some level I do miss my Z28 but I think its just the GOOD memories I have, truthfully that thing left me broke down on the side of the road on TOO many occasions.

So now that you have read what some of our first cars were you should have a good comparison of how NICE of a first car you have. Again congrats on the purchase and welcome to the CLUB

Whatever there's gas in...
Congrats on the new ride! Enjoy it and get the feel of it as-is before you consider any mods, it'll also give you time to save $$!!

But man is this car worth it

Overall, the C55s are pretty reliable. The valve cover gaskets are a known issue. I've had mine replaced this year...
