Does my C32 seem to be performing? Shot a short video tonight.

Just got this car and fixed the I/C pump which wasn't working at all. Put in a Johnson CM30 and swapped the stock filters for K&N flat panel drop ins. Everything else is stock. Temp outside was 21 degrees celcius, pretty hudmid as it just rained. Coolant temp at around 95 degrees celcius. Pickup was a bit slow from 40km/h since I didn't hit the kickdown. I would just like opinions on whether or not this accleration is normal? Seems pretty quick most of the time, but heat soak is a big issue with this motor it seems. It's a lot quicker when the coolant/intake temps are lower. However, I would just like some opinions. I was already thrashing it around on the highway for a good 10 min previous to the video.

thanks guys,

Is this your first fast car? Fast cars are worse than any drug out there, you will never be satisfied with the speed....I put so much money in my STi in mods and maintenence it just never ends...and the Benz def costs more to mod oh well

No, I had a heavily modded turbo Jetta in high school. It was pretty darn fast. I sold that and got a Harley F150 to help me move around in the college and now the Army. Now that I'm done moving for a few years, I'm ready to get back into a Euro with a little bit of speed

...plus, I like the attention

Hmmmmm... I think that question was directed at me.

Anyways, my 2nd car which I've owned since 4 years ago is a 1996 Volvo 850 Turbo. Before I took everything apart it put out 302WHP/398lbs*ft of torque. It was no slouch. All that torque came in at 2000RPM which just made it a smoke machine. 850's were FWD, no LSD with unbalanced axel shafts. I ran a 16.9 1/4 mile at 112mph lol, couldn't get the 1st 2 gears to hook. If I got proper traction I'm sure it would have done low 13's no problem. My previous car before I got the C32 was a 2006 Saab 93 Aero 2.8L V6 turbo, chipped and a TD04 super 19T compressor, put out 323whp and 350lbs*ft torque. Also FWD, but the car hauled ***. My first 2 cars were an Eaton supercharged 1994 BMW E36 318i (175WHP) and a 1994 Eurospec E36 M3 (~280HP crank). Both were track cars. I've always been a fan of forced induction. Anyways, to answer your question, I've always been in moderately fast cars, nothing too crazy yet. The volvo was going to be a 600WHP beast, but the syncho's, engine mounts and tires couldn't cope with all that torque. I gave up on the project, now the volvo is just my winter car/ 2nd car.

Cooling mods are a must. Once you have the heat soak issue in check, you'll be a lot happier.

That looks on the money for stocker for sure. Once you install 185 though, watch the ESP blinking all the way until 55 mph
