I got the kit from frank a long time ago and never installed it because I didn't have the right tool. You're welcome to take a look at it.

If you guys make copies, can you fab one up for me? I'll gladly pay for your time and materials if you can make this happen; PM me the details!

BTW, the kit loud has also comes with new bolts so if you can get their measurements as well it will come in handy when it comes time to install our diff fins.

There are a few possibilities dep on your cars setup:
1. If you are super lucky you could have a factory diff cover that will allow you to simply bolt this cooler on. Unlikely.

1a - or next time you service the rear end..... add a rear diff cover that is made for this cooler.....check it below:https://mbworld.org/forums/5368587-post4.html

I understand there is quite a bit of work involved in removing the rear diff cover.... so not a drive-way job.
If I get a new rear end with higher gears..... I'll got this route..... for now I'll make a custom adapter plate.

2. You may also have a diff cover with pre-existing cooling fins built into the cover..... which will most likely not allow you to adapt this bolt-on cooler.

3. If you have a smooth diff cover.. .my clk55 has the smooth cover... you will bascially be installing an adapter bracket to the bottom two diff cover bolts, then bolt the cooler to the adapter bracket. The adapter appears to be l-shaped.

I went ahead and ordered the stock C55 bolt-on AMG diff cooler. When it gets here, I'll look at fabricating a simple l-bracket to mount this to my clk55 diff cover.

Hope this helps.
Thankss a lot Jeff,,

Unfortunately, there’s no direct bolt-on cover for my diff. in the dealer,, i have an old style one,,

I well try to customizing one (hope i can)....,,

*See the attach, what’s my diff. cover look like.....

CM- You should be able to have a custom aluminum adapater made for your diff cover.

It's a pretty simple concept...... basically bolt a solid aluminum adapter to 2 of the diff cover bolts and bolt the heatsink to the adapter. Ideally more contact area between the diff cover and adapater and heatsink the better for good heat transfer from the diff to the fins on the heatsink.

I must admit that I'm surprised so many members here want to add this modification.

Yes, this differential cooler is one of several "upgrades" that the W203 C55 got to make the car a better on-track performer compared to the previous C32 (and 2003-2004 CLK55).

I could be wrong, but I don't get a sense that many members here take their cars to the track for lapping days where the car is subjected to continous high speed running for prolonged periods, where this differential cooler MAY be of potential benefit.

I just don't see this modification as very necessary if the car is not used for lapping on a track. If the motivation is to get it for looks, it certainly doesn't stand out unless you look under the car.

Here are pics from when I attempted to install the kit. Lucky I didn't have the tool, other wise it would be installed.

When I did the rear differential oil change. Requires triple squares
