long awaited differential cooling fin adapter is here!!
for me and two other fellows...
kit comes with 3 replacement bolts for the differential cover and 2 shorter bolts to secure the fin to the adapter. the fin itself is purchased separately.
I'll have it put on tomorrow.

not sure if the bolts location for the regular 203 diff are in the same place. if they are it should work for the regular 203 as well.
it does for long period of enthusiastic driving. it's up to you whether you want it or not.

adapter kit is around $120 +$20 shipping ($60 split between us three) from taiwan (made by a local AMG/MB tuner shop). I had a whole thread going on the cooling diff part number and discussion on it. only overdrive and loudandheard jumped in. they're paying $10 extra since i have to send it out to them by usps.
i had a relative picked them up and shipped them out for me.
cooling fin is $107 ish retail btw. picked mine up for around $75.

Josh, they say up to 15 degrees cooler diff fluid?? I gather the benefit would be for extended high speed runs and that around town running it would not make much of a difference. It does look good though!!

basically it is for cooling the differential fluid during continues high speed runs to prevent catastrophic meltdowns/diff locking up under high stress. the same idea that we have coolant passing through the transmission to keep the temp down on the transmission.
it doesn't do much for daily driving, but it sure looks cool as hell

If I remember correctly someone actually polished theirs up with a dremmel and made the sucker shine! I guess it made it a lot more evident when following the car and people kept wondering what it was Just an idea..

Zayed,
From my quick research on this board and the Mopar board to retro-fit either of those to your benz you will need an aluminum adapter.
There are a few possibilities dep on your cars setup:
1. If you are super lucky you could have a factory diff cover that will allow you to simply bolt this cooler on. Unlikely.
1a - or next time you service the rear end..... add a rear diff cover that is made for this cooler.....check it below:https://mbworld.org/forums/5368587-post4.html
I understand there is quite a bit of work involved in removing the rear diff cover.... so not a drive-way job.
If I get a new rear end with higher gears..... I'll got this route..... for now I'll make a custom adapter plate.
2. You may also have a diff cover with pre-existing cooling fins built into the cover..... which will most likely not allow you to adapt this bolt-on cooler.
3. If you have a smooth diff cover.. .my clk55 has the smooth cover... you will bascially be installing an adapter bracket to the bottom two diff cover bolts, then bolt the cooler to the adapter bracket. The adapter appears to be l-shaped.
I went ahead and ordered the stock C55 bolt-on AMG diff cooler. When it gets here, I'll look at fabricating a simple l-bracket to mount this to my clk55 diff cover.
Hope this helps.

I've been wanting to do this mod for years! My findings were the same as yours, an adapter plate is necessary to retrofit onto our cars. If the the shop Frank used was selling these adapter kits online, I bet a lot of people would buy it.
Let me know what you find!
