Well, I dont really care what numbers do they put on the CTS, IMO, it is one of the ugliest car in the market. I can understand they tried to look innovative, but......not my cup of tea. I'd rather prefer the look of the Lincoln LS than the Caddy. And also, I dont think there are any American cars that can "outhandle" MBs, BMWs and Audis.

So much for being in an exclusive performance class. Accelleration performace should be great but if the brakes are anything Cadilac (not aftermarket) makes, this will be one whilte knuckle ride.

Cadillac's attempt to gain sales from MBZ and BMW customers. What do they have to offer that the German counterparts don't? Their only answer is horsepower. That is all they ever advertise. It is just like their commercial of the Catera (I think) against the E-class in the late 90's. Didn't make the car faster one bit. Now they try again with the XLR against the SL500, focusing on HP once again. Not too sure about the performance numbers between those two, but they think HP is the sole reason to finalize the decision to a car purchase.

sweet!! that thing looks hot...I've like the CTS since it came out. Too bad potential buyer for Caddy is still OLD, and if ppl didn't pick C32 or the M3, there's still a S4 and IS430 (if it does make it). We'll have to wait and see more numbers for that car.![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
i think the XLR will be pretty good in performance&handling since it's based on the Corvette.
is that CTS sharing the brakes with other GM product? I don't recall they have 6 lugs for their wheel on any car. I know the Viper has 6 lugs, but that's Chrysler.

the catera was awful....pork pork pork... hopefully, the cts isn't another miss trying to be both the sport compact sedan (i.e. e46/w203) and the sport luxury sedan (e39/w211)... 400 hp isn't quite low enuf for the 300 hp range and yet, won't be high enuf for the monster rs6/e55w211 range either... it's a shame american cars fell so far behind in terms of excitement in the 80s and 90s... the evoq doesn't look too bad...

Nice Performance...
I read a artical in earlier issue in Motor Trend saying this car had been tested in European test track and got great reviews incompares to C32, old E55, M3 and M5. People were quite impressed about the handling and performance...almost like a M5 killer...since M5 is the banch mark in this category.
Just beware when you see one on the street, you might want to treat it like the ZR6.

Though not the best looking, it certain is quite unique in terms of visual impact. Personally, I give Caddie the credit for its design. Great handling or not, MB's (including C32s) aren't that good either. There are always rooms for aftermarket improvement.

This car is about the ugliest sports car I have seen to date. Sorry USA boys but leave the fun cars in the hands of Germans and Italians ...
I have seen many complaints about the handling of the C32 by I assume USA customers. I drive a European C32 and I am pretty sure we have different setup over here because the handling is very good. The only thing I may change is the weels. 18" not only looks better but I am starting to get traction problems now that ODPS has been installed and more HP are underway.

the only difference between the Euro and US market C32 is the ride height because of that damn regulation that require all car too meet certain height for the bumper. Spring is different.

2002 C32
Come on guys let's speak the truth!!! For the $, our cars are dogs!!! Constantly losing comparo's in the car mags, electrical problems out the wazoo, etc. If you had it to do over again would you really buy a C32 given how the used C's take a beating in the used car field. Of course when I got mine it was one of the firsts but, BAM, soon thereafter we see more cars everywhere with more power, size, lesser price. The E55 is a beast no doubt but it still is 3rd in the latest comparo and it looks too drab on the outside to differentiate it from other E's. So if Caddy can pull a relatively lightweight 4-door with 400hp I for one will be first in line to take a test drive. My car has been a service garage queen with many minor problems I would have expected from US manufactures not from overseas. Like my 93 PFSC RX-7 I just want brute force WITH 4 doors. If its half the price for a faster, MUCH cheaper, more relaible CTS, SRT-8 (430HP Chrysler), Ill take a chance.

YES, the C32 still be my pick because M3 still don't have 4-door and even though the New S4 is cool, but I don't drive manual and it's auto is slower than the C32.
only thing better than the C32 in my mind right now is the RS6 or the new E55.![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
btw, the new E55 is the top pick from BBC's Top Gear magazine. that's good enough for me...

Regarding the Z06, while it is fast, it is unbelievably cheap inside. HORRIBLE! A Z28, basically. You can definitely see where Chevy put the money and where they didn't. This is called the "G35 Syndrome".

C32 AMG
When it first came out, I was only okay with the looks. Now, having to see it a couple of times on the road, I begin to like it. With 400hp, nice brakes and good suspension setup, I don't see why this Caddy can't compare?

C32AMG
Well ,t is definitely
DIFFERENT!.I'll hold judgement on performace issues,as this could wind up being a good combination of drivetrain/suspension pieces, although GM has a nasty tendency to select parts from the cheaper boxes on the shelf.A lot of their better concept/show cars are watered down by the time they are produced,as the bean-counters usually have the final authority.
