Probably an overboost CEL, but you really need to get a code reader and check out what code was thrown.

Sometimes they'll do it at a local Kragen for free. Or go to your mechanic and have them pull the code.

+1

One can also buy a cheap code reader for ~50 bucks or less; check Amazon and/or ebay. A worthwhile addition to any enthusiast's toolkit.

Could be overboost, although I don't think that happened as frequently with M112K's running the 181 kits... mainly the 185's. Could perhaps be a misfire if any of his coilpacks are going bad... but, as you mention, the CEL code will provide the answer.

+2, very common , C32 Used has had the same issue for many years!! You've pumped up the boost and its going to throw a CEL. NOT Jerry's fault, just the way it is. Are you running stacked?? Have any boost numbers?? You're probably over 20-22 and that's whats causing the CEL.

Now, FWIW, my C3 SC pulley (non- stacked stock crank pulley) has never thrown a CEL. One other thing, how about your octane? What are you running??

if its a over boost cel, it'll go away after you drive the car for awhile.

I ran my 185 for a week without a tune, making sure that I didn't go over 4500 RPM and never get a CEL. I then had it tuned by Jerry and went WOT to 130 mph (in another country of course) also without any CEL. So, I would assume that you should be safe with 181 crank and not stacked.

Like others have suggested, but go to your local Autozone and have it checked. Good luck!

Is it even possible to overboost with the 181MM? Shouldn't max boost be around 19-20 PSI. Maybe possible in below freezing temperatures...

yeah in cold weather the air should be dense enough to create overboost cels. I use to get over boost cels all the time if i went WOT at 60degree weather.

The CEL was infact the "MAP Sensor" i heard that is an common problem with tuned c32s?

The CEL have dissapeared when i started the car today but it came back some hours later and it was then i have the code read.!

Do i need to replace the map sensor or what do you guys think?

Thanks!

I run a 181mm pulley and don't have this problem. Happened only once at Atco during 1/4 mile runs. Something else is going on. Contact EC and see what they say. It may be the MAP sensor that is not reading right. Or you may have a C3 pulley and not know about it.
