CEL & headers

hi gents

the headers bug just bit me big time and like i posted before i found a set here in the desert in KSA Jeddah , they are kleemann , so any ways if i do install them and delete the primary cats i will for sure get the notorious CEL light on my dash , so the question is , is the any way to delete it permanently using the star diagnostic tool or do i have to get the ECU reflash by one of great companies that tune our AMG's ?

please help me

You could always weld a bung on the downpipes for the o2 sensors if you don't want to get your ECU reflashed but I would highly recommend getting a tune now that your exhaust flow will be opened up more.

Get a tune or let the dealership delete the CEL with the Star Diagnostics. Certainley if you did the Kleemann ecu and mention you've got headers they will delete the CEL or you can re reoute the 02 sensors to the rear of the secondary catalytic converters.

1. you can't disable the o2 sensor.
2. tune has nothing to do with o2 sensor
3. tap a hole and weld a bung with longer fitting and don't let the sensor sit directly in the exhaust flow should avoid triggering the CEL.

i am not looking to disable the O2 sensor it self , i want the ECU to ignore the light and not show it at my dash. is that possible ?

Kleemann will do it without any problems.

KLEEMANN can take care of that for you for $100 bucks. IMHO, it's a bad idea to completely disable your CEL.

hi cory i have been hearing allot of god things about you form my friends here in the forum and how helpful you are , i am sure that kleeman can cancel the CEL and do all the crazy things i dream about doing to my C55 and maybe more i am sure , but for now i have the headers in mined as my first stage after that who knows the sky is the limit.

Cory were i stand at the moment , money is not an object but time is and for me to send you my ECU to get it reflshed will delay me big time and i cannot do with out my BENZ at the moment, its to hot here and i wont use my other car for my daily drive as it is almost a full race car , and the wife is using the other car , so if there was any way you can flash or program my ECU form your location that would be the best move for me ever , i have heard of something called RAT i think , it enables you to tune the car from your location and i can download maps from it to my car do you still provide such a device ?

sorry cory , the R.A.T is a product of Renntech and not of kleeman but do you have somthing simeler to it or can you do somthing to my car with out it beeing stuck at home with out an ECU ?

thanks once more
