Cold weather tune for 185 pulley?

I've got the Eurocharged 185 pulley and tune on the car, and since it has gotten colder, I throw a code anytime I push the car a little bit....or it just flat-out goes into limp mode. The tune that was put on it was during the real hot summer months, so my question would be if there is a different tune to lower boost during the winter months.

Having exact same symptoms again...mashed WOT throws cel then Limp. Restart gets it back to norm but cel remains for a few days then goes away. Last time I pulled the code and it was the infamous map sensor again.

From my personal experience its best to tune on the coldest day for your region. that way your tune will not run lean which i'm suspecting it is doing now. only way to be sure is to hook up an afr gauge. I did my tuning in the coldest weather here which was about 50F, so ymmv. I had to richen up the fuel quite a few times to get it right. so i guess the road tuning in the dead of winter paid off cause i never had this issue...

cheers~

You have the code?

I would put money your overboosting.....I could do it with ease in the winter time.

Cold air = fun for sc cars...

But safe is always good. Let me know that code asap!

My engine feels a lot rougher now that it's so cold 20-40F. Is this normal?

Hi Jake. Yeah, I've been thinking it's an overboost code also. I'll let you know what it is the next time it pops up.

C32Used has the same issue when its cold and he runs the 185 as well. I have never ever thrown a CEL with my Code 3 pulley, BUT I know that I am NOT pushing over 20 lbs of boost either. I hear that the CEL gets thrown at 18-20 lbs and above of boost!! ** This is a very common issue on the 185 crankers and seldom heard on the 178. ***

Yeah, so does mine. I'm happy to hear I'm not the only one with this question.

I got it this Monday at the track. Most of my runs I got to 19.5 PSI but this code only came up once. I cleared it using my DashDaq and went on to run 12.42 1/4 mile after that. I wouldn't f__k with the tune. Just get yourself something to clear the MIL. Here is an example http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Merce...motiveQ5fTools
