Are E55/SLK55 rear calipers the same

Are E55/SLK55 rear calipers the same
I have an opportunity to pick up a E55 rear brake setup for cheap. I just picked up a C32, and from what I have read on this board the SLK55 setup bolts right up. I tried a few parts sites on line to check myself, but non have the AMG option for me to confirm myself. Can anyone give me a yes/no answer on this?

No, the CLK/SLK calipers are different than the E/CLS/SL/S/CL calipers. The piston bores are larger on the larger cars and won't work nicely with your stock master cylinder.

I'm sure there is a larger master cylinder that I can upgrade to. I just need to know if the bolt pattern is the same?

My personal opinion is that it's more of a pain and higher cost to try to redo the braking system rather than just trying to find the right calipers in the first place....

i believe the slk55 and e55 calipers from the rear are the same. the issues you will most likely incur would be proper spacing of the caliper and rotor diameter. both can be over come but its trial and error. are the rear calipers you are looking at 2 piston or 4 piston? the rear rotors on a c32 are 300 mm same as the slk32. the difference is in the fronts which carry most of the load. 345mm for the c32 and you really dont want the same size in the rear as the front. if you are keeping the oem fronts i wouldnt change the rears to e55 calipers
ok did a little search and looks like the e55 are 4 piston rears. you would want the 6 piston fronts to keep the braking balnce. maybe grab them and stash them until you find a set for the front?

well i do apreciate the flowers but im hardly the resident expert!! splinter makes me look like a newb with his knowledge!

I was hoping someone would chime in! Yes, I plan on going 6 piston up front to counter the fours in the rear. I would feel better if someone with a 203/209 can confirm this setup.

I was told by a Mercedes tech that the SL55 rotors will fit on the rear of the C55, they are the same price but cross drilled and give better stopping power.
He also swapped up the calipers on the fronts.
