C32 Alternator Failure
Few weeks ago I went on a 600 mile round trip. When I got back into town Alternator/Battery Visit Workshop. I was able to make it to Autozone with 8% battery life. Charged battery there, and drove home. Been parked for nearly two weeks now... I ordered a refurbished alternator through Ebay on the 8th, and barely got the thing today! That seller is getting negative feedback...
Checked the regulator on the new unit it is brand new. It's a nice night temperature wise compared to what it's been lately. Might just get it done here in a while. Come to think of it I've done a lot of work on the C32 at night... Strange how the alternator just gave out completely. The battery is only a few months old. Glad we have such an oversized battery!

I was looking at the step by step procedure to swap out your Alternator in ALLDATAdiy.com, it shouldn't take you too long to get back on the road tonight! Good luck, let me know if you need any direction.

How do you "barely" receive something? Either you got it or you didn't. If you did get it, why the negative feedback?

I did end up replacing the alternator last night, and yes the space is very limited. This is what I did.
Remove negative battery to chassis ground.
Remove bottom skid plate.
Remove left intake hose.
Remove tubing for secondary air pump.
Unclamp hose by alt. pulley.
Move out of the way.
On the alt. one bolt is internal torx, and other is external.
Loosen top alt. bolt.
Remove bottom alt. bolt.
Support alt. and remove top bolt.
Set Alt. on frame, and face up.
Under vehicle remove electrical connections.
If installed remove left pulley saver kit pulley and move bracket aside.
Maneuver alt. around coolant line, and remove pulley up.
Position a fan blade just right for space to remove alt.
Lower in new alternator, align in bolting areas, bolt, and reinstall elec. wiring.
If the battery is low it should first be charged to 100% before starting the vehicle.
I got everything done, and was exciting to start the c32. I inspect closely to find out the alt. pulley is a 5 groove not a 7 groove! I had Autozone unbolt the old alt. pulley this morning, but had work all day. Hoping I'll be able to unbolt the new pulley using the belt to hold it in place. If not will again have to remove the alternator, and reinstall... My toolbox MM sockets only go up to 19. Bought a 24MM at Autozone $7.

Yup made the same mistake, I think the one on your new alternator is a dummy (it's plastic). I had to take the new alternator back out, bolt on the pulley from the defective one and put the alternator back in. Putting the alternator back in the 2nd time should not be a PIA since you have good practice by now
Where did you get your new alternator from? Hopefully not the same place online as I did bc it'll only last for about a week.

It's a OE unit remanufactured. Brand new regulator. Purchased on Ebay. I don't have any sockets above 19MM in my tool box. Bought the 24MM that fits old alternator. Of course new alternator isn't 24MM... Trying to do this around work is hard. When I got off today picked up 20-23MM sockets. Here in a while I'll try to remove the pulley with the alternator installed, and belt holding pulley in place. Hopefully the belt will hold it enough to break the nut loose. This has been a huge PIA due to the shipping, and pulley issue!

As most of you I'm sure guessed the pulley couldn't be removed with alternator installed on vehicle. Decided to just get some sleep, and I'm going to pull the alt. here in a few. Take it over to Autozone...

At Autozone they just used a torque wrench to loosen both nuts. C32 is up and running again! The new cm30 seems to flow better too...
