As i would have to agree as well
the new 550i has caught my eye several times
Its just a very nice looking car with finally a decent interior.
But it could never replace the E Cinco Cinco

Just think of all the amazing machines that could justify that 57+ k price tag other than the a 3 series. A slew of AMG's, Porches, M's. Granted they wont be new but they would only be a few years old and be certified pre owned for that price.

I wonder who's doing product research over at BMW. I don't think I could find a small hand full of people who'd even bother considering it.

I agree the pricing is too high. I think the kind of person that would pay 57k for the 3 series would just pay a few grand more and get m3. But i guess time will tell.

Exactly

The 335i(s) targets the young business professional. Those individuals have 40-50k to spend on a fancy new car... not nearly, if not over 60k

And question for the c55 guys,i just deleted my resonator and replaced it with straight pipe, am I losing low end torque and just getting a better sound or am I increasing performance?

It couldn't replace the Cinco Cinco because you'd have to call it the Cinco Cinco Cero Y

Great choice, personally I'd go for a SL65 AMG, or a S600/CL600. I have a thing for twin turbo V12's. Ahhh if only I had 57+k lying around.

I am still lusting over 996TT, we can get a nice 2005 TTS for 57K or even the grand daddy 993TT for that price as well.

0-60 4.6

Qtr: 13.2 @106.2 (car also has Available Launch control on DSG) Car tested had 6 speed manual tranny with Porsche's TT inspired overboost function

Price as tested : Ouch $ 57,540
You failed to include the .93 skip pad which is impressive. They could have easily made it have more power but it would have beaten or been equal to the e92 m3 and taken sales away.

Here we go......First batter up
For that money I'd take a Z06
But i would have to get rid of my beloved RX-7 which BTW is 17 years old but still to this day pulls a 1.03

I'm going to bunt and not take a hit at this one.

The skid pad is irrelevant to most of us since how often are we tracking our cars??

Point is, for the $$ at $60 K, there's a LOT of alternatives. I dont think anyone said its a bad car..BUT for that $$, the freakin thing should run with a C6 Vette (no way) or a couple of year old ZO-6 (no way). Like I said, priced at $40-45, the thing would be a steal, BUT $60 K!! Ouch!!!!

Exactly. I think at the in the $ 40k price range this thing would be a juggernaut in it's market.

Hey now... Leave my old girl alone. She's like a fine wine. Just keeps getting better with age.

As for 57k for a 335.. Ha, more like a used P31 C63 or 996TT for sure! Nice try BMW but this is riddled with FAIL from the get go!
