Not sure if there's space to use them but Home Depot has 5" to 4" couplers that could work. I think they are large enough that you could loosen the filter, move it back some, put the coupler on at the air port, and slide the filter forward until it holds everything in place... Just an idea...

Looks interesting. I think it may be more beneficial to have a hose that leads up to the filters to direct all the air to them that way there is no air loss in the engine bay. More info on those filter boxes! or the boxes where on the old set up the filters used to be. those look pretty cool...
