Hitting rev limiter in 1st gear, why?

I've been hitting the rev limiter in 1st gear a couple of times now, both times the car was in full automatic mode. I assume this should not be happening.. is there something I can do? Anyone else have this issue?

I think they all do it occasionally. Going to have to live with it unless you get an aftermarket chip that raises the rev. limiter. Sucks when it happens though.

I have not ever had it happen, either. I thrashed it pretty hard a couple of weekends ago at a time trial and never had a hiccup.

Mike,

It is not normal for your car to do this. Call the service rep I mentioned to you in the PM and ask him if they can look at it.

Thanks,
Ben

This was a pretty common gripe about 18 months ago, I'm sure it will happen with any C32 at some point. So no one hear has almost hit there head on the steering wheel on the 1-2 shift? Does not happen very often, but it does.

Exclamation

The cases I've heard of is the protection interlock of S/C overheat.
Go for the dealer & connect the DAS , you can read all those error messages.

Mine did that a few times also. When I brought it in for the first service I told the service adviser about it. They ordered some parts (a valvle body I think) and reprogrammed the computer. I have not had it happen since then. This fix made my car shift a little smoother also.
