ByeTurboS4,

Welcome... you have a lot of questions. They're good ones, and hopefully you find the folks around here to be pretty friendly and accommodating. c32used started an excellent compilation thread, stickied at the top, "newbies start here" - if you haven't already done so, I'd encourage you to read the parts you find interesting.

Yes, most people tend to go with the tune offered by whomever they source their pulley from, although you don't have to.

Eurocharged does the most aggressive tunes for AMGs - hands down.

Jerry is one of the principals at Eurocharged (AFAIK). "Jerrytune" is a forum-coined phrase for having him tune your vehicle, so "Jerrytune" = Eurocharged tune (most of the time).

You switched to Renntech's tuning so you could make track adjustments to the maps? Knew you switched, but had heard a very different story/reason back then. OT for here, however.

I saw a mint C32 yesterday, very sharp looking sedan. Would love a report when you get it, that 3.2k really is a great engine. Also, it's always good to buy from a guy you know like you're doing and it sounds like you have a steal on your hands. Autocar recorded 4.6 seconds to 60 and 10.8 seconds to 100mph in stock form just so you know. Congrats again...

Also it depends on your other mods in (intake, headers, etc..). IIRC, with only a SC pulley (no tune) the gains were somewhere around 20 whp.

02C32Guy, will you be helping Mike with any of his mods? I am thinking of ordering a pulley, and may need some help with the install.

We talked about it. I would be more than happy to help. Especially if you have a good place to do it.

Cool. Let me know the status of the pulleys when you get further. I want to be there and have an interest in the path that you take.

c32AMG-DTM- thanks, I'm glad that you feel I'm askin worthwhile questions and not ones that have been explained to death
8 read a lot of that newbie guide but has anyone rally looked at it lately, it does not have a ton of info. If you click the nitrous info link, it has a two post thrread that's says "can I run nos on my c32?" One reply that says "try it and let us know". I lol ed at that one.

Myfirst amg-what's your first name buddy? Where in cville do you live? Igrew up in dtown but I'm in west chester now. Id def be down for you me and chris to install the pulleys ecu and cooling mods.

I need sway bars, rotors, and control arm bushings asap. Some suggestions (upgrades if they're better than oem) would be great.

So the path I'm gonna take is prob a 185 from EC, then either remote tune or buy an extra ecu and send it to them. Gonna get the IC seperator, psk, and a heatxchanger. - I hope to order all this stuff in the next week. (Maybe coilovers too)

Ill be ordering (I think) H+R sways and maybe powerstop rotors and some type of bushings in the next three days.

In the next month or so ill be looking into a zex kit.

+1.

I did the Mr.Paddleshift kit on my 540 and had fun with that. I would be interested in the same for my C32 as well!

Thanks!

The code3 pulley is indeed the supercharger pulley. However, the 178, 181, and 185 are crank pulleys, and with them are included other pulleys that must be installed in conjunction with the larger crank pulley.

How it works? Code 3 SC pulley is smaller than the stock SC pulley, so it will rotate more frequently/faster and create more boost. There may be some belt slip because the belt size is the same but the pulley is a little smaller (decreased surface area)

The crank pulley kits generally make more power, though the Code3 makes similar power to the 178 kits. Larger crank pulley with the same size belt overdrives some of the components, and for that reason and fitment purposes, a different idler (with a special high speed bearing) and water pump pulley are included.

If you go with the largest crank pulley available (185), you must have (a) a tune, for safety purposes (b) and a heat exchanger, to realize anywhere near the full power, as you won't reach that without a larger heat exchanger. I would recommend getting the Needswings Pulley Saver Kit which saves the integrity of all of your pulleys essentially. I think that is absolutely a must do.

I would also recommended a step colder plugs as well as the 55 intake to increase the air going into the motor (again this is if you go with the 185 or 181). With a 181/185, your stock intake becomes a bottleneck IMO

hope that helps
+1

I started the newbie thread it has info that I as I was modding my car found as info others would like...now it's not fool proof pretty sure there are various other threads worthy of being posted there which I wrote it's open to all post whatever anyone deems as worth while info...it's a continuing open thread and info today can be linked there also...though I started thread I wasn't expecting to be the only person donating to it...well I hope you find all your answers.
