C32 AMG Intake Assistance
Ok men, here's where I sit right now.
55k Splitter and Boxes with stock filters and aluminized steel pipes to the radiator support.
I've coated the intake tubes in Rustoleum Engine Enamel to try and hold some of the heat back but not sure it's doing such a great job. The ends of the intake are slightly flattened into an oval shape but I think I'm going to bump up the diameter and flatten some more to fill the space and scoop more air.
Right now I'm open to suggestions to make any adjustments and improvements.

just what I had in mind, what size of tubing did you use, did you weld them or have them bent.
I agree with you the intake shall be enlarged to allow more air in, oval funnel design woul do the job to increase the velocity and volume of air ram thru
well done, keep the pics coming

Tubing is 3" to match the inlet on the airboxes. They're press bent, took my guy about 30 minutes to make them by eyeballing everything. He's got a tool that stretches the pipe diameter up to half an inch and he can press them back down again to fit in the radiator support.
I'll post new pictures for any changes I make to it. Contemplating a thermal coating, header wrap or heat sleeve right now but I'm not sure it make much difference at speed because the air is moving through the pipes too fast to really heat up.

This is how mine is currently sitting....Do you guys think I am losing much air by the way my tubes are poking through the front? I wonder how it differs from yours with them wide open...

Agreed, however I do like what you did to connect the pipes to the filter housings. What exactly is that? It looks like a big thick rubber band or something. Mine does not stay in place very well at that part and I'm looking for a good way to keep it together

I'll find out what it's called when I get home today. It fits very snug over the airbox inlet and doesn't need a ring clamp but you'll need a ring clamp on the intake tubes.

So what's going on with the devil horns, haven't figured out how to put them on? I was looking at the ttm intake scoops, but they are a bit out of my price range at the moment and I don't know if they would fit.

Here is a picture of Advans's C55 with the CLK Kevlar intake. It would be the same for the C32 with the 55 air boxes. Looks (and is OEM) and protects the intake air from heat soak.
