Yea, the muffler shop is next door to the body shop. They did some great work. They said my install was a real PITA since it was basically trial and error cuz I swapped out the wheel well and installed 2 mufflers. I believe I paid $400-$500 including piping for the whole job. Some pics in my exhaust thread.

Bump for this thread!
I want to do this, but have been reading a lot about backpressure loss while messing with the exhaust.
If one keeps the secondary cats, but removes the resonator and muffler shouldn't the back pressure still be reasonably there.
Also, what does an x-pipe do for backpressure or in general?
Thanks!

Are you sure?
I've just read to many things about back pressure on MB World. Some people have even reported losing low end torque when deleting the resonator.
I deleted mine, but I never felt any loss of torque.
I'm just wondering if adding all the piping for the X-pipe and what not does anything to back pressure.

+1.
But don't go too crazy thinking about it all the time. The main thing is to also have a scavenging effect. Read this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manifold_(automotive)under exhaust section. (I know its wikipedia, but this really is not a secret.)
I went (gradually) with 2.5' dual pipes post downpipes into an X out to two mufflers and the car is distinctively loud. But I'm (and my neighbors) are learning to love it.

I believe the cut out is just cut out with tin snips as I read in a DIY thread for the diffuser... check it out here https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...asy-steps.html
