nothing bad so far as for higher HP, I am pushing 600HP on a corvette and I have about 22000 miles on them thay are still in good shape can go atleast 5-10k more before metal shows just dont spin the tires much if you push the rears hard you may get 10k-15k out of them

Besides the US their biggest market is Germany I am told.

I had a whole set and I just had to replace the set because the front left tire was splitting and the rears were down to 3/32.
Decided to try out a set of Kumho Ecsta LE Sport XL because they were the around the same price but were giving away a $100 prepaid VISA card.

I use hankook ice bears on dedicated rims as winter tires on my CL. My tech says the Hankooks are the biggest bargain in the business. He sees everything roll through his shop but does not sell tires. If I did not have yoko Advan sports as summer tire already I would go to the v12s based on my great experience with the Icebears.

Good to know. I went with Dunlop wintersport 3ds and they have been great for the winter. Might try some Hankooks next winter.

Could you indicate how many miles you got out of the tires and what you thought of them in terms of dry and wet handling?

Bought the Hankook set on 08/14/2009 around 40K miles and just bought the new set on 03/23/2011 around 56-57L miles. So they actually lasted about 1.5 years and 16K miles.
At the time, I paid $114 for each front and $153 for each back tire.
Dry handling was good, not a lot of slippage that I could tell. Wet handling, well its a summer tire, so it wasn't the best but it felt safe to drive daily in wet conditions, but I was careful not to push it hard in the rain just in case. I still drove it on the highway to work during rainy days, just kept the hard cornering to a minimum in those conditions.
I even tried them out a few times in the slush/light snow just to see what happened. No surprise that it was slippery, but I could get around slightly if it was very light slush and no ice. But really, you shouldn't be using these in the winter anyways.
If you check out tireracks reviews they are rated quite well in wet handling, one of the better in the summer performance class which is why I bought them. I would have probably bought them again, even with the tire splitting issue, had it not been for another comparable tire that I wanted to try in the KUMHO that had the $100 prepaid Visa (for my upcoming honeymoon), and I needed tires ASAP and the Hankooks had another 3-5 days wait on them that I couldn't afford to wait on.
I would recommend them for the price for a fairly good daily driver. Never took it on a track so I can't comment on their ability there.

Here is tireracks consumer rating:

Here is Car and Driver's review last year I believe:

That's what I used to help make my decision last time.

I'm running 235/45 and 255/40 Hankook V12s on my stock 17 inch C32 wheels. When I ordered that size from Tire Rack, their representative called to inform that the tires will be slightly different in sizes compared to stock and might result in drivability issues.
I did not heed their warning and installed them anyway, lo and behold my cruise control did not work on speeds aboce 40 MPH.
Now that the tires are nicely worn, the cruise control works fine again. I've been driving with it for 8K miles and only noticed slight wear and I drive rather hard.
Dry performance is decent and better than my old F1-GS D3. Wet performance is okay and I haven't slipped when driving normally in heavy rain.
I would buy them again in a heartbeat.

On the track, they're good until they're very hot. The fronts on mine, 235x18 got greasy around the tight bends after about 15 minutes of heavy cornering (I was on a large outdoor gokart track...basically a very big autocross track).

They aren't the best track tire, but they're great value for the money.

it's the fronts that were the problem...I had the same issue when I ran that tire size up front and as soon as I changed them out it worked fine again.

+1. I've got about 5,000 on mine also and plenty of tread left. Pilot Sports and ContiSports are pretty much done after 15-17k miles of even moderate driving. I expect the Hankooks to at least match this, especially given the Tire Rack survey on tread wear cited above. As to performance, they scored near the top of Car & Driver's budget tire test, which was good enough for me. I guess we'll see but as it sits right now, these appear to be excellent street tires for our cars.

wow Newzchspy that 1/4 mile time is very impressive for those mods, are you consistently sub 13's? and where have you run?
With my cooling mods, I can run consistently in the high 12s.
