C55 Front Brake job is in my future

So the little warning indicator comes on now and I'm getting ready to do the brakes on my 2006 C55. I picked-up the pads from NAPA for $85...top of the line NAPA United pads, with new sensors...a total of 8 pads I think. I know there's some good write-ups on here about doing a brake job but I thought I would ask a few general questions.

1) Are the brakes on the C32 and C55 the same? ie, can I use the same write-up instructions?

2) I've read both, you can turn the rotors, you shouldn't turn the rotors, etc. Look, I'm of the opinion that you should be able to. Every set of rotors I've ever seen could be turned. I'm not driving the car to the track...its my wifes daily driver, so there won't be any heavy braking on the rotors. NAPA says they can turn drilled rotors so I'm planning on having them turned. My car has 90k miles so if the rotors have ever been turned they haven't been turned buy maybe once so I'm guessing the thinkness won't be an issue.

Thoughts?

If you can return them, I'd recommend going with ceramic pads, you get like 10 times less brake dust!!

I need some ceramics for the ML55, who or what do you recommend?? The brake dust on the stock pads is just horrific.

Centric posi-quiet. I've been using them for years in many of my cars. No track duty, just street driving. Centric also makes very nice rotors.

Rockauto has the best prices and very quick shipping.

First off, why are you buying parts at retail? Order online. Second, I wouldn't turn rotors on a C55. On my truck I might, but not on something that makes 400 ft-lbs.

So you would turn rotors on something that is twice as heavy to stop?

Dude if you have made up your mind to turn rotors, quit asking us for opinions and do what you think is best for your situation. Passive aggressive questions aren't going to help you.

Yes, I would turn rotors on something heavier because it only makes half the power. Momentum is a function of weight and power, not just weight. Faster you go, more force is required to stop you. Kapish?

Have not heard of "turning" either before this thread, but aparently it just means resufacing (shaving off a tiny amount of material on each side until the rotor becomes smooth after warping.)

I don't think turning is necessary just keep using them. OEM pads are only like 140 I would stick to them as I have heard many stories about aftermarket pads squeaking or not fitting sensors.
