OT...my new "American Muscle" toy...C4 Corvette w/pics
Hey guys...I mentioned a few months ago that I was getting a C4 Vette as a daily driver and I've got it and got the new wheels on it and loving it now! 1994 Vette with 83k miles. I drive it round trip 40 miles each day and am loving it. A little bit of a rough ride and hard to get in and out of, but I get 20+mpg and enjoy the looks I get. Thoughts?

I like it!!! The only thing I don't like about the Vette is 1.. The ride (I agree with you on that one) and the 2. Seats 3. You fell like your butt is on the ground when you climb over that big ole door sill and then sit in the car like you're in a tub.
My likes are the infinite "mods" you can make to it. They really do handle well and are very torquey out of the hole. There's a ton of parts out there for the C4 as well.
For all the engineering that Chebby has put into the Vette over the years, they still can't get the seats right. Not a bad DD at all. Oh, and cops love em too!!!

Well, I got a C4 because I couldn't afford a C5. I bought the car fo $5000, spent $800 on paint and $800 on the 2008 Z06 wheels and tires for a total investment of $6600. Not bad for a 83k mile car with a nice pedigree. :-)

Depends on the day...
Your car looks good CT, I’ve always been a Vette fan. Lots of options available and if the engine is strong I think you’ve found a great ride. Good track car too!

Very true what you say...the door sill's are indeed DEEEEP...sort of looked weired the first time I saw them. The thing I love about the car is the handling...best handling car I've ever driven (limited sample size I guess). Its amazing how it handle the curves, and with the 275's up front and the 325's out back it has plenty of rubber on the pavement. The 300hp has great kick out of the box but is horrible when punching it at speed.
All in all, fun car to drive.

How does it compare to the C Klasse? I bet right off the digg, the C4 will take it?

Out of the hole the C4 would pull but the C55 would smoke it in a 1/4 mile. I don't know the numbers, but I would bet, based on experience, that the C55 would put a least a full second, maybe 2 on the Vette. Handling, the Vette would kill the C55 though. The Vette makes the Benz feel like a truck when it comes to carving curves.

C32 AMG, 2007 Chev Lumina SS, 2006 ML 320cdi
Sweet ride. I bought a muscle car because my C32 spent too much time in the shop and costs a fortune too maintain. My new addition is a '07 Chevy Lumina SS 6 litre V8 and it is classed as an Aussie muscle car as it is not sold in the States, but it runs a Corvette LS1 motor. Comparing it to my C32 is like comparing a nightclub bouncer to Bruce Lee - both will kick your ***, just in different ways. I love the torque from a big V8 especially on the freeway when it goes like a freight train, but for racing between robots my screaming supercharged V6 rules. Have fun.

Here's a front shot I took with it parked beside a '78 Vette w/20k original miles...for comparison.
