C32 Sportcoupe

Greetings. We're in the market for a C32 Sportcoupe. Is it possible to find this model in the United States? Thank you.

400hp from the factory, all wheel drive, 6 speed manual, it has distronic and parktronic, ventilated and massaging active seats, and quarter mile in less than 12 seconds. The MSRP was also half of the C32 sedan.

He (Dingleberry) is joking. There was never a C32 Sport Coupe. The only w203 C Sport Coupe AMG produced was never brought to the U.S., and was a diesel-engined variant.

One member here that I'm aware of, took a C320 Coupe and swapped a M112K engine into it. That's the closest you'd ever get to a C32 Coupe.

The only sport coupe AMG I am aware of is the C30 AMG diesel.

Are you sure about that? If I remember correctly there was a time when AMG did offer a gasoline C32 Sport Coupe in Europe...

2005 C55 AMG
This from Wikipedia:

The second version was C 30 CDI AMG, using a 3.0 L five-cylinder engine, capable of 231 PS (170 kW; 228 hp) at 3800 rpm and 540 N·m (398 lb·ft) at 2000 rpm. Both were available in all three body styles, but the diesel model did not reach sales expectations and was retired in 2004, as well as the C32 AMG Sportcoupé.
Indicates there was indeed a C32 Sportcoupe, although I cannot find anything more definitive. The only images I can find are of the C30 CDI AMG.

Hmmm... you guys may be right; my apologies if so for posting inaccurate info.

Other than some old forum posts asking questions and seeking additional info, and a couple references from Wiki, I can't find anything definitive about a C32 AMG Sportcoupe. How many were made, during which model years, etc. One reference seemed to suggest that it was a special-order vehicle, not a regularly-produced model.

The C30 CDI AMG was made in a CL203, but alas, wasn't brought here (probably would've bought one, if so).

To the OP's question, even if this model (C32 AMG Sportcoupe) was ever produced in any meaningful capacity, it was not brought to the United States.

I also cannot find any information on the model anywhere, with the exception of the occasional mention of the vehicle as "special order," and the Wiki reference above. However I don't understand who in the hell would ever "special order" that thing, but to each his own I suppose...

There indeed was a C32 AMG Sport Coupe, in addition to the C30 CDI AMG Sport Coupe. Both were never offerred in North America. Both were built in in very limited numbers. The impression I had was that they were only built "on demand" for customers from AMG Manufaktur (now known as AMG Performance Studio).

Below is the press release from MB/AMG about the C32 AMG Sport Coupe. The following features stood out for me: 1) retuned suspension compared to the C32 AMG sedan, 2) wide tires and wide 18" rims (much wider than the C32/55 sedans). On paper, this may could have been the best performing and handling 203 series car (assuming that the suspension tuning was as good as the C55 or better, in a lighter coupe package)......too bad we may never know.

Press Release
New from Mercedes-AMG GmbH: V6 supercharged dynamism now in the C-Class Sports Coup too - unique motoring pleasure with an output of 260 kW/354 hp

• Powerful: high-performance V6 power unit with supercharging
• Exceptional: 450 Nm torque and AMG SPEEDSHIFT
• Consummate: performance to rival thoroughbred sports cars
• Exclusive: manufactured to individual customer requirements

Affalterbach - Mercedes-AMG GmbH has developed a very special vehicle for all those who are looking for the ultimate in driving pleasure: the C 32 AMG Sports Coupe. With its combination of powerful high-tech drive system and compact body, it stands alone in its field. The 4.34-meter long two-door vehicle is powered by the V6 supercharged engine which already ensures dynamic driving in the C 32 AMG and the SLK 32 AMG. The key data for the supercharged six-cylinder vehicle says it all: with a maximum output of 260 kW/354 hp at 6100 rpm and a maximum torque of 450 Nm at 4400 rpm, the vehicle's performance rivals that of a sports car. It takes just 5.2 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h and passes the 200 km/h mark at 18.3 seconds. The top speed is 250 km/h (electronically governed).

AMG SPEEDSHIFT automatic transmission and AMG sports suspension
The vehicle is fitted with a 5-speed automatic transmission with AMG SPEEDSHIFT function which combines the dynamism of a manual transmission and the convenience of an automatic. The optimum gear function and the active engine-braking downshift, together with manual bypassing of the torque converter from first gear, allow an extremely direct driving experience. The AMG SPEEDSHIFT transmission design means that gear changes are more spontaneous and around 35 percent faster. The brakes and suspension of the Mercedes-Benz C 32 AMG Sports Coupe have also been systematically adapted to the vehicle's more dynamic handling. The retuning of the springing and damping elements all round, the enlarging of the stabilizers and the lowering of the body by around 30 millimeters ensure sporty handling without impairing the long-distance qualities expected in a Mercedes. The internally ventilated brake disks all-round, perforated at the front axle, ensure minimal stopping distances and extreme reliability on prolonged application of the brakes. Wide-base tires, size 245/40 ZR 18 at the front and 275/35 ZR 18 at the rear, hold the road, and the C 32 AMG Sports Coupe is fitted as standard with multi-piece AMG light-alloy wheels, size 8.5 x 18 (front) and 10 x 18 (rear).

Dynamic even when it's standing still: AMG bodystyling and twin exhaust
The looks of the C 32 AMG Sports Coupe live up to the standard of the technology on board. The powerfully contoured front apron and the muscular rear apron leave the onlooker in no doubt that this powerful two-door car is a member of the AMG high-performance vehicle family. The exhaust system is a totally new development: the Sports Coupe, with its V6 supercharged engine, has a twin exhaust. The two oval, chromed tailpipes not only round off the vehicle perfectly, in typical AMG style, but also deliver an impressive sound. The standard vehicle is converted into a C 32 AMG Sports Coupe to individual customer requirements at Mercedes-AMG in Affalterbach. The safety and quality standards which apply to every Mercedes-Benz vehicle are, of course, taken into account in this process. The AMG package consists of the engine, exhaust system, transmission, suspension, brakes, 18-inch wheels, AMG instrument cluster with 300-km/h speedometer and AMG bodystyling. More detailed individual requirements with regard to interior appointments or wheel/tire combinations can be dealt with by the AMG Manufaktur.

An overview of the most important data:
C 32 AMG Sports Coupe
Displacement (cc) 3199
Bore x stroke (mm) 89.9 x 84.0
Cylinders/valves 6/3
Compression ratio 9.0:1
Output (kW/hp at rpm) 260/354 at 6100
Max. torque (Nm at rpm) 450 at 4400
0-100 km/h (s) 5.2
0-200 km/h (s) 18.3
Top speed (km/h) 250*
* Electronically governed. Available without speed limiter as an option

Did reading skills suddenly drop off the planet here?? I quote myself again.....there is actually a press release from MB below about the C32 AMG Sport Coupe. The picture that Dingleberry posted fits with everything about what is described in the press release: unique twin exhaust system, and multi-piece AMG light alloy wheels.

PC Valkyrie, great info... thank you for sharing. What do you make of the bolded excerpt above? It almost sounds like a post-production AMG conversion performed at customer request? Lost in translation, perhaps?

I would've killed for that car. Damn it...

I knew about that baby as soon as it came out. I prayed nightly that it would be brought here...but my prayers were unanswered. Rage ensued.

There is one among us old sportcoupe drivers who made the dream a reality. Pshek is the only man that I know who converted his sportcoupe into a 32. I still respect that man, and would likely be very interested in buying his sportcoupe off him if given the chance.
