Need a part number for C230 2002

Hi All, I searched the thread and could only find the sensor part number I already have: 000 542 84 18. I need the cable/wire that plugs into that part: 000 542 84 18. Anyone have the part number handy, or access to a parts database?

Thanks in advance.

Patrick.

You'll have better results in the C class section.

You can't buy the wire separate it's part of the body mounted engine harness. Maybe you can get it repaired if you are lucky or find one from a junked car and cut it off.

503 what vehicle are you looking at in EPC ? I noticed your picture shows a cable next to it, but if you are in his vehicle it will not show it. You may be able to try using this one 203-540-17-33 which I just went to a newer c-class and found it without using the EPCs filtering. This however means it does not apply to the vehicle so it could very well be wrong, but maybe it can be cut and retrofitted onto the harness. It's worth a shot over buying the complete harness.

Thanks for the feedback

So it looks like I cannot buy the wiring for this temp sensor - right. Mine got destroyed by road debris - large truck tire I did not see until too late.

Maybe I can try the suggestion looking at the part from another MB vehicle...

it was W203 230 C class...
You are correct, in the EPC it states it does not apply to his vehicle

Smile Job done

So I got the new outside Ambient Temp Sensor removed and replaced. These are the other parts I purchased $11 total (not including the sensor):

Part #: 000 540 23 05; 000 540 24 05; 000 545 69 80; 210 540 20 81. Sensor was: 000 542 84 18

Just snipped off the old one and added the new wiring to the remaining wire using the new cable harness and pin bushing.

Thanks to everyone that provided input - much appreciated.

Now I am getting dash board readings that are much closer to the real outside temps.
